I went back to the new permission for another hunt.
Started with a big thimble.

Then I started to find a few buttons, then a buckle.
I dug the old copper, and stuck it in my pocket.

Then I got a 92, which changed to a 99 out of the hole.
I really thought I had a colonial silver.

But it was not to be, but it was silver.

This is the last hunt for the year. Very pleased to end it on a high note.
Kind of amazing year it was.
Happy New to everyone

The ground was a bit firmer, but still lots of moisture.

Really good hunt! I don't understand why so many thimbles were lost?
Thanks Tony
Both sites on this permission had a thimble.
It seems that most homesteads have a few.
Probably doing the mending out on the lawn, drop it, lost.

Congratulations Pepper

Best wishes to you, and your family for the New Year as well.

A fantastic way to end the season ! :occasion14:
A big congrats on finding the Half Cent.

I found my first US Half Cent last year - a 1829 that's in real nice condition.

Good Hunting !
