Yet another rock with a hole, but interesting

Found this along the shore of Saginaw Bay on Lake Huron, not far from where the Indians gathered chert, in Bayport Michigan . This is chert. Has an almost perfect round hole out one side, other side oblonged. Looks like the start of another hole on the outside round part. Unusual shape, maybe a fishing weight? its about an inch in diameter.

It's not possible to drill a piece of chert unless you are using a tube drill and abrasive powder. I say natural. Some softer material eroded away leaving the holes. Gary

How big is it? If small enough might be a bead.
