I suppose I'd be trying to build stuff, but with less tools!

Gosh it would be hard making a wagon like Nick's without power tools! ;D

Couldn't have aluminum wheels, either.

Since I did autobody and frame repair for 44 years in this life, I would say Blacksmith or wagon maker.....NGE

hey can I change my mind

lol

if I wasn't a rancher

I'd like to be with Tom Edison, and watch the discovery of the light bulb

Probably farmer/logger or something along those lines.

If I'd go by family "tradition" most certainly a mercenary though. :)

Inventer. I would have invented the metal detector so all of you would have something to do in your spare time.

What do you imagine you'd be doing for a living if you lived in the 1800's? For me, I'd either be a bounty hunter or a prospector. Scott

I'd probably be the opposite of my life's experiences:

Bandito. (Even though I'm a gringo.) My Spanish is passable. I love Mexico, and border hopping.

Either that, or a Jesuit Priest in charge of gold mines....

what all the men of my fathers family have been for almost 300 years --till I retired in 2007 as the last of the line --a merchant seaman .--- moms side was coal miners (no thanks to that)

Frankly I'm not sure I could live without all our present amenities...AC, Heat, Electricity, Internet, Fridge, Stove/Oven, Indoor plumbing, Hot showers, cars....the ability to go long distances in hours instead of weeks, maybe I'd be a winemaker and own a small family run eatery of sorts...of course near Sutters Mill in California...

Yeah, I bet you would hang out with Lafayette so you could go back later and dig up his stuff.

Me? Would ya believe Confederate Calvary? I could hang out with my McNatt ancestors and shoot em up with the James brothers after the war.
