Found in a tilled garden area that was used for an encampment at the turn of the 20th century. Sitting just under the surface waiting to be plucked. One of my best finds, wish it had more detail. 20141110_090004.webp20141110_090031.webp

From all I've read I would consider it a fantastic find if there is enough detail left to identify it and date it. I know folks find nicer ones, but they also find them where they look like blank round discs. So great job finding this beauty!

Great find thanks for sharing and congrats on the success.

Hello Beez0404,

Congratulations on your excellent find.

Happy Hunting

Nice one! I would love to dig one of those but I don't think they circulated in western PA.

Fantastic find! Congrats! I'm still looking for one.
I hope your going back there!

Congrats on such a historic coin from the early newborn days of america's independance from Britain right before any us mint was formed at the the same time America was making a Constitution. That coin is definitely a rare piece, one of the more desirable state coppers. Bad condition or not, it is still rare historical find.

Coinman123,

Congrats! That's a nice looking mass! I've got 4 conn but no mass yet. HH!

Congratulations on finding the MA Copper! I'm still hoping to find one here in CT.

Soak that baby in olive oil you may get that date

Hey trust me that decent detail for a Mass Cent. Looks a hell of a lot better than mine. Great find

That's some good luck....condition great too!!

Looks pretty fine to me considering the age of it ! Very good find .

keep the oil, water, or other stuff away from that coin. It's as nice as it's going to get. And a sweet coin at that.
