Pfft! Those guys don't know anything except how to get arrested.

Have you checked out allexperts.com? They might have a place you can post it. If someone can't answer, maybe it will get you some leads.

I feel like giving an update for those that are intersted.
I am still researching this... I have spoken with the MET, the smithsonian, the museum of man, and many universities, still waiting to hear from the Hispanic society of america, usualy they say they dont give appraisals or do research, and i ask them if a curator isnt there?? And i explain how it could have anthropologic significance .
Still nobody has any info for me.... Anyways
On my list of things to do is get it analyzed by xrf.
I do have some new observations to share, and atleast one question,
? French brass fur trade beads? I have read about them but despite searching many times , i havent seen a single example...anyone ever seen one???
I read the natives were very perticular to get thin metal, perhaps to make beads, etc.? Althought i still hope they could be a native gold alloy "electrum", wich was used by the Chavin culture, and others, chavin goldwork looks the same color.
My first new observation, under a rare earth magnet the 3 cross beads show attraction, the magnet wont stick at all , but when hanging ,the 3 crosses will swing towards the magnet, I think this means they were Polarized, what can that tell me?? also the large round oval beads of wich i count 22 , some 3 or 4 show very slight attraction , also i noticed there is some green wax residshown some beads. I also polished part of one bead with an eraser, it looks much more shiny now like gold, the medal with jesus also has some rainbow tonning when i look at it in the right light. And one of the first beads has two small markings,
Also i notice whenever the beads and medal clash, it rings like precious metal to my ears

Here is the marked bead, two markings, unusual to the rest of the carvings.

Just read most of the thread. Very interesting! I don't understand how some people didn't realize that every bead is different. Before one comments, they should actually take a closer look at the item that they are commenting on. Also, when I was reading, I thought since the coins aren't all the same material the most likely all corded at different rates, hence making them look like they were recently all placed on the necklace. I know you mentioned something similar to that earlier, which I found interesting since I thought of the same thing.

Has there been a determination as to what the item actually is? I have seen examples of prayer beads and even 18th century rosaries on the internet that, while not as exquisitely crafted as this, are patterned in much the same way. Screenshot_20161110-083101.webp

i looked at a few more pgs, tried narrowing to
just brass beads 1700-1850, nothing that looks
like yours, agreed op looks like a rosary style
pattern,i think this was discussed b4, but not
much info, and this blog dosent have a lot of
info mostly an opinion.
im not Catholic and no nothing of the Rosary
have you taken it to a priest/Catholic church
for an opinion to see if it is a Rosary, sorry
if you mentioned it i dont remember

Well I have actualy brought it to a preist a long time ago i was refered to by an antique dealer, this preist was the authority of anything to do with the church, he was a church historian, he said it defenitly had nothing to do with the church.
Church medal were mass produced etc..
While it looks like a rosary, i beleive that is coincidence,
Nothing of the pattern matches a rosary,

Also no determintion has been made yet,
I even went to my local university today and spoke with several proffesors,
The image u showed me doesnt look similar at all.... The only resource i think with a similar image would be a book someone else mention from 1500s german I have not been able to find it. Rosario della sacratassima vergine maria?

Actually. Beads are broken up like this ,16,16,12,58,12,14,15,4coins,3crosses, 150 beads total, that is the only similarity to a rosary, and that would be to the 12th century... But also there is one tiny hidden bead, so actual 151 beads, anyone seen a 150 bead rosary??? I would like to compare the pattern, most modern rosarys have the cross / medal hanging from a single strand.
