Off the topic, several people asked me why I didnt bring Sunny my parrot. I said because I didnt want to be pooped on all day. I dont have a diaper like Treasure Hunter has for his. I also told them I almost had to bring a bunch of baby parrots, Pacific Parrotlets, one of the smallest parrots in the world. We breed parrots, and almost always have babies, and we hand feed them once they are a week old from hatching, so they think humans are their parents, and the flock. Only way to get a really tame bird. But my fiance Lynn worked yesterday, and she said she could take them and feed them when they needed it. Here's some of the babies, and the parents. The 4 babies are 3 pied green and yellow, and one pied Blue and white, the little one at left middle top is the blue one, and maybe the only male. Yellow is missing from blues, so the yellow will be white. The 2 fledged ones are about 1 week ahead of the other 2. 2 days ago, the 2 on the right did not have feathers. The parents are female green split to blue, and the male is a double yellow spilt to blue. Its a little out of focus shooting through the mesh. We are trying to get leusistic-white with black eyes. And some other color mutations. We are familiar with the Punnett's square with breeding birds and genetics. So we are keeping at least one of these as a breeder.

Here is an adult, that we have not bred yet, it is green, normal wild color, but split to blue. They are only about 3 1/2" to maybe 4" long from the top of the head to the tip of the tail. This one is perched on my thumb for comparison. She is standing on the middle bone of my thumb. Between the 2 joints. Very tiny birds, but very nice, calm, quiet, and they do learn to talk. We probaly have at any one time 25 birds at home. Only the inside birds are tame. The rest we keep out in large aviaries. That is an aviary in the background.

Great pic thanks!
Is it just me or does Dell look like Tommy Lee Jones from that angle?

I really wish I could have made it, looks like it was a blast and here I am with my heat kicking on the last two mornings! :(

looks like I get the "last man standing" award * when I peeled out homebound at about 3 45 am
* not a soul was left up and stirring . :icon_thumright:

I was stirring around in the kitchen with an insatiable desire to devour cookies at 2am. They seemed to mesh well with Bud Light. One tent out back must be filled with crumbs. I rested for a couple hours while listening to blaring music coming from Aquanuts cool hang out room out back.... grrrrrr...... homebound at 4:30am..... long drive.....

I had such a great time. Thanks everyone!!!!!!

And a few more pics from me...

Thank you John, it was an outstanding time. It was good to see old friends once again, and to meet so many new friends.

Had a great time at the cookout, John you and the crew out did yourself this time......Looking forward to next years already....

Weather was perfect, food and music was really good and the people were great....Got to see some old friends and make some new friends... Got to discuss indian artifacts with the master Deepsix and I really enjoyed that...FloridaBill thanks for the great shirt...

Wish I could have stayed longer but the wife wanted me to take her to the gym to work out before it closed, which was probably good as it gave me a chance to work off some of the calories from all the food I ate.....

Thanks again John... :icon_thumright:
