A couple of "What is it" thingy's

Found these at a 1898 Home. They were all around 5 inches deep. Maybe you can just tell me when this lock was around or who it was made by. It has no markings on it. And how about this brass type thing with a Lady on it. Pretty ornate decoration for what, I do not know. Make a guess please.....

Second, is what looks to be a bottle topper of sorts with a crown on it.

Third, is a token for South Bend Business College. Can't seem to get a date or when this college was around.

Fourth, how can you date an arrowhead??? This was found in a hole that I was digging for a coin target. The target was a piece of aluminum and then this arrowhead was found in the bottom of the hole.

Pics in no particular order....Thanks for any info on any of these items. jgas

Your threaded item toward the bottom looks like its off of either a Hot Water Bottle or possibly a canteen.

It almost looks like a fuse. Can I see a pic of the bottom? Probably canteen top.

The lady with flowing hair looks like Art Nouveau , The craze peaked from 1890 - 1905 .

Not sure what it is . Maybe a part of an oil lamp hanger ?

Nice Stuff !

Great finds, the stoppers are missing the rubber washer/plug on the bottom, but I remember them.

I like that idea! .......or maybe a flask . That thing at the bottom of it may have had a chain attached - to keep it from being lost .

mojjax, I'd envisioned a seal held by the pin at the bottom which when the cap as screwed in, would press against an interior lip of the vessel. That would be overkill. Your chain idea makes far more sense! (it seems too "spiky" (uncomfortable) for a hot water bottle though) Considering how decorative this stopper is, maybe we can't eliminate fancy oil lamps either in our search?

After a quick look at Google I see South Bend Business College having been open at least from 1901 til 1946. It could be longer on either end. A picture is here:

The padlock, makers marks were sometimes put on the top of the latch part and pretty worn by the time it's dug up. See if there are any letters, numbers o the latch, you may be able to make out some of them. Neat finds!
