ALMOST GOT STABBED TODAY....Over 15 cent basically...

Went to metal detect a house that i had detected bout 4 or 5 times..yes i had gotten a permission form the guy who was cutting the grass....i just asked one day while passing...dude said shi go ahead i dont care..ok today this dude drives thru and approachs me with a knife....talking bout why you at my grandmother house detecting...i told him politely dude that cuts the grass told me it was cool...so this dude ask me who i am..i told him who i be...i tell him homie you aint gotta approach me like that....so he says get off the property....i do..while the whole time watching the knife in this dudes hand....one wrong move and i promise you he would have had sume trouble...with my shovel...so while im leaving...i tell this dude...i understand this your peeps house..but you aint gotta approach me like that...you should check your grass cutter..he was like what you mean...shi somebody been coming here stealing copper...then he calls sumeone and they like..you not suppose to be on the property...if you dont leave in 10 secs the police coming..so i was like yes ma'am...i asked the grass cutter and he said it was cool....i told him homie i metal detect...i dont do **** like that...so **** it i leave...this dude following me homie and e'thang..when im in front of my house he pass thru...im like this where i stay....sume people ignorant minded ass ****...same thing happen before ol' guy gave me permission...female rides thru this my house what you doing here....i say mr.XXX...said it was cool.....she calls her uncle...he says yes i told him it was okay...she apologizes and ask me to watch the house for her...which is 2 houses over...this **** getting to be dangerous.. people alway wanting to get brolic before they get understanding....thats how alotta **** happen...and i promise you it wasnt gon happen to me...over sume misunderstanding...

dude approached me the wrong way doe...its a right and a wrong way to handle a situation...it was manless of him to approach me with a knife....as soon as i saw it my prison mentallity kicked in..."focus...protect and destroy"....i dont try to injure i try to kill...when im threatin'....thats what i've always lived by thats what prison taught me....i didnt disrespect homie...not becuz i was afraid but becuz im a man...and i understood it was his family's property....but if he would have pointed that knife my way any type of way....hey i would've caught a murder charge today....not acting all bad or anythang...but what the ****....a knife...
im more interested with whats in the ground....he just didnt know doe...the whole time that shovel was cocked and loaded....with a target focused on his throat....then the dude said it was stolen awhile back...couple years i think thats what he said..**** i started detecting 6mons ago....before that i was a straight home body type dude....

Hey, you certainly introduce a dimension to treasure hunting where most of us won't go! I can't wait to hear the stories you'll tell. Lord knows I've never seen that whole universe discussed except in quick flight. This thread has evolved very positively I think by all. But remember, we're not block wise! Most of us here don't go there, won't go there, and in reality you've got some untouched treasure there. Take the old bar sites, the old poker game sites, there's no doubt you will find virgin territory, period.

You've so many machines, you've been in this a while - there's some old ones there.

Please, please tell us some stories. I've never seen a post on TNet where a detectorist explored the hoods.

i feel you on that...im gonna just be real...every since i was 8 or 9 i've been in and out of foster homes,juvie,jail,prison....im not ashamed neither cause i cant change it...i grew up in the system...when i first got out,the only way i felt comfortable was in my room...4 corners...when i was released i trusted no one...i still dont have but one friend and thats my wife..met her after i got out...she understands me...sweetest lady in the world...everyone knows and love her...without her i would still be nothing.every year i was locked up...every year...2 bids in prison....i had to change or spend the rest of my life there...ive come along way...everyone is proud of me....cause they never saw me out this long...and see me doing something positive...sume people dont understand how hard life is....the life i was living consumed me...i became that life...some people will say they understand but really dont unless they've lived it...i hate to bore you on with my life...when the forum is about metal detecting...but thats why i joined to make new friends....not to be chastised cause my language is not adequate enough...

When out detecting, you do not know if you are going to meet people who want to rob you or have serious mental problems. If it is legal, carry a hand gun, if not, carry Mace or Peppy Spray.

Yes it is...when i first touched down in the free world again...i had nuthin...i was broken and she mended me....she understood and knew i came from nuthin'...that feelin of knowin' she cared about me...made me want to do sume for her kindness...aswell as for myself....i worked hard...for 2 maybe 3 years...every temp job services around here knew me....on my off days i was calling in for work...when a job came open they call'd me first...everythang i made went to her...cause really i aint truely know what to do with it...then one day i got introduced to the enternet...it was on then...i stayed on the enternet learning...youtube became my school...i learned how to do everythang....then i put that lil knowledge to use...and started doing photos using photoshop...i was doing images for eh'body....music industry guys...local rappers...churches...local businesss....i made her proud of me first...then the rest just followed....i let people knew what my situation had been like...most of them respected it...sume didnt care...and a few just dipped...i let it be known up front...because i didnt want it coming back on me in the long run....then i watched a metal detecting video on youtube one day....guy name dirtfishing...i wanted to try out metal detecting...i bought a efx swarm 100...i wasnt finding anythang with it...then the wifey tells me one day...imma get you a better one....we went to the pawnshop...they had 2...eurotek pro & garrett gtp1350...she paid for the both of them...she made me feel like a king that day...cause i neva had anyone do that for me...even doe i had the money myself....i hadnt shedded a tear in about 15 years before this happen....so when we got home...in the back yard with my back turned...acting like i was diggin' i was bent over crying....cause i was still free...with a good person standing beside me.....

Takes all kinds. Be a boring world if we were all alike. The digging community typically has an open door policy, you like to dig the doors open. I don't care where your from how you talk or what you look like. We're all the same when you wash off the dirt.

It was his father that gave me the permission...i was so happy to get the permission...it neva crossed my mind to ask was he the property owner...because we started to convo about the metal detector...every since my learning of metal detecting i've always asked for permission...even if its the public sidewalk...and on the topic of him protecting himself from me...im not the only one that he has pulled a knife on...the police,his own uncle...found that out thru his family members...that dont even mingle with him anymore because of his attitude...like i said earlier,these guys this away will disrespect they own mom...no respect...

Education dosn't come from books bro.. It comes from having common sense. The simple fact that you mention being in prison to a bunch of strangers on an internet forum makes it seem like in your world it's something to be proud of. Nobody needed to know that for you to tell your story. And then the borderline racist comments were the frosting on the cake..
