Another "Bad day at Black Rlock"...I couldn't believe my eyes on this strange find...

Hi:hello:

Guess I have to head down south to find some gorgeous "goodies"....nothing up this end of the coast for me these days. :icon_scratch:

Yesterday an F-15 Eagle flew out of the sand and into my scoop..today:BangHead:

Hunted wet sand today, and along the way I heard this enormously loud sound, so I started diggin' and diggin'..and finally about 18 " deep I see this hideous thing staring up at me from the hole!

I suppose at one time this serrated knife was quite an eye-catching specimen, but I tell you ...my heart can't take surprises like this one!:laughing7:

It fits really well in one's hand with an index finger under the "claws" of one side, and the 3rd, 4th, and 5th fingers under the "claws " of the other side.

It weighs in at one lb...heavy thing.

One of the claws was broken off when I retrieved the item; as I rechecked the hole, I heard another loud sound...and there was the claw piece.

One ray of sunshine....on the way back to the car, I found a "pocket spill" of about 35 coins..also deep..about 12" in the dry sand.

"Wheatie" is a 1951 "d".

Good luck to everyone out there....we'll see what tomorrow brings; gotta get back to those rocky areas.

Here's a couple of pics ( including this item as advertised on the Internet, and also here is a link to its description:

Thanks for looking

Ha! Now THAT is something you don't see everyday! Funkalicious!!

I was hoping at least that the "toenails" were gold, but I think they are just coated with some kind of junk gold-looking material.

really neat find!!!! could have ended badly though. if you decide not to fix it up i will buy it from you.
chuck.

Well done and good post. I wish you luck next hunt:laughing7::find::dontknow:
:hello: Lorraine, congratulation!! For me you are always the first girl hunter in the world.

That knife looks like something a troll might carry. :laughing7: Just saying....some of the finds you've made lately are pretty, "out there". Would those rocks happen to be in the shape of a temple of some sort? :laughing7:

wow Lorraine that is one interesting find indeed! Just glad that you didn't cut yourself in the process of digging it up. You just never know what you will find on the beach:)

Unusual dagger indeed. Perhaps the DNA will let know " Who Killed Cock Robin"

awesome dagger Lorraine and one of the most unique finds I've seen posted in a while, coins, silver and gold are nice but the off the wall finds make it fun too.....cool find :sunny:

NEW DROPS ARE HOPEFULLY HEADING YOUR WAY SOON

Finding neat keepers like that dagger Lorraine, will
make the 35 cent pocket spill just a faint memory.
Ya never know what you will find next on the beach.
