Another "Bad day at Black Rlock"...I couldn't believe my eyes on this strange find...
Hi
Guess I have to head down south to find some gorgeous "goodies"....nothing up this end of the coast for me these days.
Yesterday an F-15 Eagle flew out of the sand and into my scoop..today
Hunted wet sand today, and along the way I heard this enormously loud sound, so I started diggin' and diggin'..and finally about 18 " deep I see this hideous thing staring up at me from the hole!
I suppose at one time this serrated knife was quite an eye-catching specimen, but I tell you ...my heart can't take surprises like this one!
It fits really well in one's hand with an index finger under the "claws" of one side, and the 3rd, 4th, and 5th fingers under the "claws " of the other side.
It weighs in at one lb...heavy thing.
One of the claws was broken off when I retrieved the item; as I rechecked the hole, I heard another loud sound...and there was the claw piece.
One ray of sunshine....on the way back to the car, I found a "pocket spill" of about 35 coins..also deep..about 12" in the dry sand.
"Wheatie" is a 1951 "d".
Good luck to everyone out there....we'll see what tomorrow brings; gotta get back to those rocky areas.
Here's a couple of pics ( including this item as advertised on the Internet, and also here is a link to its description:
