stupid, right?

I found 8 stamps decently preserved for about 100 years by a Gillette razor box!

The stamps were printed between 1913-15 and commemorate the completion of the Panama Canal and the PPIE in 1915.

I guess you never know what you're going to turn up out there.

way cool find

Now that is a very cool find!

That's a really unique find, nice!

Outstanding, unusual, rare find, congratulations. A little time capsule. Sub 8-)

When I was a kid, I recall boiling the stamps to remove them from an envelope...then place on a paper towel, then flatten in a heavy book for a day. I also remember using the steam from a tea kettle...

My Dad cut out the ink stamps from his parents password...lol

That is a very nice find. That would have been neat to open that box and see those stamps in there from over 100 years ago.

Hi; Just ONE QUESTION : How many here consider this find for a BANNER VOTE ?? My Vote is for BANNER. Due to it's unusual and rareness of this find. What say ye Folks?? I await. PEACE:RONB

WhaT 8-) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ unique dig for sure !

:skullflag: daWg

That is sick as hell!!!!!! CONGRATZ.....

I'd wet myself if I made a find like that.

I think this deserves a BANNER vote!

Definitely banner worthy. It's not just about the value of the item. Sometimes it is just about how incredible the find is. I remember whenever a Hood's Sarsaparilla bottle dug in the middle of a plowed field made the banner. Everyone freaked out said it wasn't Worthy excetera. I thought it was great. It's the idea that the bottle remained Unbroken in a plowed field all that time and then someone managed to recover it. I would love to be able to figure out how to put in a banner vote from my smartphone because my computer is down.

I do too. That's a lot of years just laying around...IN THE ELEMENTS, no less.

.....Just went back and didn't read where they were "specifically found outside in the elements", so will place my Banner vote on hold.

But if found outside - WOW!!

Im on a PC and don't know how to "vote" Banner, other than to just state it in a post. Am I missing something??

Very unique find. You might have mentioned it but did you dig this razor container out of the ground while metal detecting or find it in an protected interior location. Either way it is a great find but if this was a dug find then I am amazed that the box preserved the stamps like it did.

On the top right hand side of each post is a kinda red Nominate Banner button. It takes you to a screen where you type in why it's a banner find.

Oh, THAT'S it! I thought it said "NOMINATE BANNED"! :laughing7:

It's in CAPS and a red button, so never did click on it. oooops! :BangHead:

Thanks DADS. :occasion14:

I was kind of thinking the same thing and was going to mention it but in the title it says dug. Which brings me also to another point which makes a good Banner find is the story of the recovery and a willingness to participate in the thread answer questions excetera

Was quite a thrill!

Hey KCM, I will provide a few more details below, but yes, they were found in the elements. That is the most shocking part about it to me.

thanks!
