Apush: Your thoughts

First, I found from last week's boxes (will post pic this week) my first silver comm: James Madison/Bill of Rights. I had planned on purchasing one of those as I tend to love history a tad.

On another subject: I hope I did not get "ripped." Here goes: I went to pick up my boxes today and saw Christmas .999 silver one ounce rounds in an old dusty-looking case. I ask the teller how much . . . on average $21 per round. I bought some. Earliest date is 2002; latest date is 2005.

I hope I did not make a mistake. I am crossing my fingers I did not do anything so stupid and I am stuck with useless Christmas thing-a-majigs. Either the bank left the retail price at the dates on the boxes, or I ate a lot of junk.

Well on the.silver rounds if.they are silver and.an ounce ea that's a good.price

They are quite common but should be real .999 silver. $21 is a good price now with silver over $35. I have a number of them I bought a couple years back when silver was dirt cheap, $8.00 an ounce.

Hey Lady, you did great on those rounds or ovals. Give your bud a call and see what he is paying and MR Apush will reward you with some brewskis. Making 14-15 bucks each on rounds is great. Great job on the rounds, and what a co-inky-dink, I found a 1993 James Madison bill of rights last week too.

Gotta love those modern commemorative 90%ers.

You absolutely made a great buy on those rounds! Regardless of what is printed on them, a 1 oz. .999 silver round is still 1 oz. of .999 silver. At $21 you paid roughly 60% of melt value. If you didn't get them all, by all means go back and get the rest of them. If you don't want to take that big of a hit to your CRH bankroll, you can always sell enough of them to get your initial investment back (and add the remaining ones to the stash at absolutely no out-of-pocket expense), or just immediately sell them all and pocket some instant profit. I don't think you'd have a problem finding a buyer - probably on this forum - at $31-$35 each very quickly.

No, those were not my painted toes, but I wish they were. We don't hit Galveston until mid-to-late July. I am dreaming about that as I type. Got at least 3 months until I hit the beach. Dang the luck.

Will call "our guy" to see how those Christmas silvers stack up!

Man, i've seen a few people on here finding some silver rounds for sale at banks for way below melt, that's awesome. I think you did really good, I would have bought as many as they'd let me
