I went to Arkansas over the weekend to hunt with Vol1266X and some friends from Oklahoma. We hunted a place close to Jenkins Ferry on private property with the owner's permission. The owners of some of the properties around Jenkins Ferry have stopped all relic hunting because they say some of the local relic hunters were slipping on to their property without permission and digging holes without covering them up, as well as leaving trash scattered around. We are always very careful to dig holes and replace the plugs. We also carry out all trash that we dig up. I was lucky to find a few good relics such as part of an 1851 sword belt plate. I also found a cuff-sized U.S. Naval button. I found some tear drop pistol bullets and a bullet made into a poker chip, both which is a first for me. Thanks for looking.

VERY NICE! Thats what I call a great day!

That was the most enjoyable and productive out of state relic hunt that I have ever been on. Our Okie friends (John, J.J., and Terry) really put us on the relics. At the risk of being called a whiner by MM, I wish I could have dug a picket bullet (like the one on your second row-far right) and a teardrop bullet. WTG, Q.

great job Dman. looking good. glad you had a great hunt. seems your shoulder is some better. see you when i can.

It sounds and looks like such a rewarding hunt of CW relics. Especially when you get to spend some time with friends having a blast digging!

Cool finds. Congrats!

Teardrops make my heart stop! :headbang: Man thats some nice lead. Great finds.

Dman, Dman, Dman,
Way to go on the piece of plate. Great find. That's a lot of great lead you got there young man. I would love to dig a teardrop bullet some day. I'm not going to whine about it like Quindy though. :'( :laughing9:
Great job guys. The voyage was well worth it.

way to go on the CW Relics, :hello2:

Great Stuff !
First teardrops I've seen, Congrats on the Plate

Nice digs DMAN. To bad the sword belt plate wasn't whole :( Those tear drop pistol bullets are cool. I see them being dug in Missouri and I have dug them in West Texas. Don't see them dug back east much.

part of a plate is better than none for sure! good hunt!

I like the teardrops, I've never dug any of those. I know you all had a great time.

OH Yeah! That little drive was well worth it! And sounds like you all had great hosts to put ya'll on such a terrific spot!! 8)

Congrats on all those super finds, Burt! :icon_pirat:
