AT haters.

Hi Marh, my understanding by AT Pro users is you don't have to leave the house, just watch the digger shows. It was found at 3"inchs, so no I don't believe AT Pro's would be able to see it as they all dig at 10" inches or deeper. If you listen to the claims, only pro mode works. Gold comes in as foil to a nickel depending on size and make up. Yes, if you didn't have to discriminate out bottle caps you could find the ring with the AT Pro. Im just saying no one post finds on this thread but folks without AT Pro's. For that matter, I have yet to see anyone use a AT Pro in any park or places I hunt. I look forward to that moment. So my answer would have to be, no, I don't think a AT Pro could find it, as no one owns them here. I should post my finds for the day, lol. Because most of the folks here like their AT Pro, and seem to be new. I have to be nice and not post my finds. A good day for me is paying for gas and a snack. I live for rings, and any jewelry. I have found my niche. Since I started out with a magnet on a stick, yes I could find that ring with a AT Pro, but no, I don't think AT Pro users could find it. Not without help. Hey, a;; you got to do is watch the tv shows right?

I can't speak for any AT users and their finds, I just find it hard believe that those machines "in the hands of someone who leaves the house" couldn't find that same ring. I'm not doubting your experience, it's just seems like you have an awful lot of hate over a show and the fact that they use AT's and attracted people to your hobby.

First I got my pro through research of what my area consists of & what my needs are & ya it is waterproof no I don't take bathes with it but it is nice to knowvthat if I'm out detecting & a rainstorm comes in I'm a ways out with my machine I won't have to hide it from the rain & hope that nothing got ruined by getting wet then theres the fact that if I'm out and about if I feel like goin to the river lake ocean right from the land I can I will I've done it screw the tv show I dought very much a lot have people bought the pro cuz if that more of its a midrange all around detector that will detect gold I'm sure if the twins used the f75 & everyone bought them ud have a pro & be bashing the f75 I don't understand why it matters what anyone uses to go out have fun & metal detect who cares if ur having fun so be it if that's what u can afford so be it let's not bash each others machines & bash the people who put signs up that say no metal detecting here & honestly sounds like u had a bad experience with a pro y u hate them so much I like mine I also like both of my whites machines to I'm bot looking what ur using I'm looking to see what u dug up

Oh, I don't hate the AT Pro. I do make fun. Garret makes some fine products, I own some. The shows depending on your likes are entertaining, and the one is also educational as it has gave me some good hints on where to hunt. I actually think the hobby would have benefitted if the shows would use a T2 also. As for rain, I carry a few Walmart bags when out in the wilderness, they do just fine. The bath joke makes me laugh sorry for that pun. The F75 would be a disappointment to a new person in the hobby. I don't think it would have benefitted the hobby to show this unit. A new dig show coming out actually has what appears to be a F75, and that will be good fun watching all the other detectors keep up. But I had a time learning the F75, and still am. Im sure the AT Pro is all the detector one would ever need, but Im waiting for one of you AT Pro yahoo's to show up at one of the local parks......I have a gopro attached to my detector. Im gonna film it lol. Its all about having fun, can someone please post a pic of you and your AT in the bathtub, lots of bubbles please, this is a family oriented site. Why cant they put Digger Dan on tv, wait, he used AT Pro too. That's not helping my argument. I really like Digger Dan. I hope I have challenged a few AT Pro users to step up and post some honest feed back on the AT Pro, as I cant buy one based on some of the claims made in this thread.

Yes u are right the majority of the new show is his choice of the f75 its what he's been using for a long time I think my v3i would have not one issue against a f75

I think your right lol. Shhhhh don't tell the AT Pro guys.

Uh oh, more F75's coming to a park near you Casco... the sweet nectar will flying out of the holes! Lmao! Btw... where are you guys getting the info on this show from? Haven't seen or heard anything about it.

Been on tv but I forget the link. Don't worry, its a new show.

Can someone post a link to the AT Pro tv ad or commercial??

The sign made me chuckle, VP!

I cant believe this crap is still going on, as a new comer to the hobby and this forum, its BS like this that makes me not want to be part of a community such as this. You people need to get off your high dollar machines and get out and dig, and stop pissing on the parade of those who choose an MD that doesn't suit your fancy. Get over yourselves already will you.

But then I should tread lightly here, some may be opposed to my comments and put me in the time out chair again.

Again? You just joined, have a grand total of 13 posts and you've already been given a time out?

I think you are letting one person get under your skin. Don't judge an entire forum by the words of a few, and don't condemn "high dollar machine users" just because you don't use one. Everyone uses the machine they like or the one they can afford at the time. No different than cars, boats, houses, etc. Your condemnation of "high dollar machine users" is EXACTLY the same as what you just complained about someone else denigrating what must be termed as "low dollar machine users".

yea again JIE. I bought an ATPro, not that I couldn't dump more money down on something different, I spoke with a couple dealers and all suggested the ATP would be a great machine to start with, and like I mentioned before, (but probably got deleted) I looked into Fisher F5DD & F75, Minelabs X-Terra 505 & 705, and a Tesora or two. I liked the idea of the ATP being fully waterproof, while most of the others I looked into weren't.

I will say this, I've swung my ATP quite a bit and yet to pull a cap, I may have pulled some trashy iron artifacts and a couple interesting finds, but the priceless look on my daughter's face no matter what we dig up is what really matters, and thats what I thought this hobby was all about. I must be missing something?

Doesn't sound like you are missing anything. You have a machine you enjoy, you enjoy your hunts, and you are making some great memories with your daughter. Don't let others' opinions change that.

Ya know Jason u are absolutely right my thoughts on this hobby are as of urs I use what I can & if ur using something different then me so be it hey it works for as long as we can all talk about or wonderful finds & can help one another out with tips questions answers anything to help I will try my best its a hobby nothing more nothing less so happy hunting to everyone on here & if ur happy with the equipment ur using & ur pulling stuff out of the ground then ur doing everything right

Lol I always like that train wreck picture. Listen I have the ATPro and like it. Garrett did a good job. I also have an F-75 it does a good job. The AT goes where the F-75 can't. Simple.
Want to see one under water check out Aqua chigger on you-tube. Water warms a little and you will see the go-pro and AT both under water 8-)

I think all the AT haters bash on the AT PRO because it is such a capable machine at half the cost of their 900-1200$ machines. Don't be hating

I agree. I used the Etrac for a year, its ok but nulls out all the time and when its nulling out its OFF, not detecting anything. Note how much nulling goes on with each swing, you'll note its nulling 80% of the time. Think how many targets your missing. Its so slow to recover it misses targets. I have the AT pro now and have found my first 8 inch Indian head at a school I have hundreds of hours at with the Etrac and found a 9 inch merc dime with it. The Etrac cant hit small gold either. Put 3 targets close together and swing the Etrac over it, it will sound like one, maybe 2. Do it with the AT pro and you'll hear 3 quick pops. I can easily single out trash next to coins and can also single out different coins from a pocket spill of coins with the AT pro and couldn't with the Etrac, its sluggish and slow to respond.

Ausgoldhunter, I can make you a video. I just dug a penny at elbow depth in the sand at a tot lot. I don't own a AT Pro but saying there are detectors out there that can hit 20" inches on a coin. Is it common, no, I don't normally run in all metal mode. But you are correct, you never see a bottle cap in any of the ads. But we all dig em. One of the reasons your At Pro may have been a dud is sound. Being able to adjust the sound to ones own hearing is really important for a deep digging machine. My understanding is you get three tones, no threshold on the AT Pro. Also for the price, you are getting what you pay for. Its a real good beginners machine. I may get one just for hunts I cant use my F75, as it is too sensitive to EMI in some locations. Its would just be easier to buy a dumbed down machine for that fine hair trigger setting on my F75. Unfortunately, how may guys say, I really hate my detector as it does this and cant do that? You are at least honest, and most likely owned a better detector than the AT Pro in the first place. But I will say this, I don't care what detector you own, if you don't put a few sets of battery's in it, you don't know it. I don't think folks hate the At pro, its the wild claims and post that go on every day. When I see a really good find, I always smile and say to myself, "If I only could have searched behind him". I am considering making videos for beginners on what the difference is on a few of the brand name detectors. Why you pay more for a little more. Those digger shows probably run a fisher or minelab to locate the targets before they film a AT Pro finding it lol.

Thats impossible. If the magnetic field of metal detectors were VISIBLE you would clearly see that that no detectors magnetic / rf field goes past about 12 inches. If the magnetic field doesn't hit the metal its INVISIBLE to the detector. Thats common sense.

The ATPro sucks! Everyone that has one should get rid of it! Period!
Stupid people digging up all my stuff!

I have posted more than once on the thread. On Friday i went out with a guy that had an E-Trac. I have to say it was a nice machine and he found more than I did. As far as trash goes he found as much as I did. On depth he did better than me. Anything 2"-4" I found as much as him. His machine more closely identified what he was hitting on than the ATP but I would expect that from that class of dectector.

Would i buy an E-Trac over my ATP. I may if I had a much better area to hunt and more places. As far as price difference goes the ATP held it's own very well. Some of the signals the E-Trac picked up I tried and my ATP was silent. The guy i was with was impressed with my ATP because all he ever heard was they were junk. I have to say i was impressed with his E-Trac as well.

We spent more time trying to refine our techniques than anything and learning from each other. At the end of the day the E-Trac found $6.97 in clad and one silver pendent. My ATP found $5.21 in clad and no jewelry. We were out for about 2-1/2 hours.

I love reading about others experiences and tricks they have learned using detectors. I have learned as much if not more from guys using other brands than i have from the ATP owners. It's all good.
