Variety update!!!!! AT PRO finds 2 Large Cents, And flat buttons!!!!!!!!!!

Last friday my cousin and I went out to the Boyce property again and i found two flat buttons and a three ringer. The one flat button has a crown on it and says "Double Gilt". Then yesterday i went to the property where i deer hunt and there is an old house that sits on it. Ive been around it a few times with the Ace 250 and found two wheaties, so with the AT PRO i wanted to give it another shot, and i found a WW1 or WW2 Eagle badge? (help on a proper ID). I received the latest Lost Treasure magazine and there was an article in it on how to find treasures in hunted out spots. So i read the article and tried out a few of the tips and i think they are paying off big time because today my cousin and i went back out to the Boyce property and i worked in an opposite direction than i normally do with the AT PRO on (Pro Zero, Iron Zero) and right off the bat i dug a nice flat button the says "Independence and Commerce". Then 3 feet away and 1818 holed large cent 7" down. This is my first 1800's coin with the AT PRO. Then less then 5 minutes go by and another 5 feet away from the last large cent i getting a nice 89-91 signal. Wow "maybe another one" i yelled across the field to my cousin, i dug it and it was in the plug, only 3" down a beautiful 1817 Large Cent!!!!! I also dug a brass thing that im not sure what it is, any help there would be great. Thanks for looking and HH!!!

Variety update!!!

I think the 1817 is a very scarce variety, being a Newcomb 1 or 2!!!

Nice LCs!
Thank you all it was an awesome quick evening hunt!! MY 1st and 2nd LC for the AT PRO and 2nd and 3rd total!! I think that makes 10 off the property since we started back in the spring.

Glad I was there to see you get your first 2 old coppers with the AT pro. Congrats!

Wow FG2!!! Detail on even the backmarks are incredibly clear. The soil was kind to the buttons & coins-NICE. HH, Quindy.

Thanks man!!! Ive been waiting awhile to dig some nice coins, still shocked they both came in the same hunt!

Thanks Quindy!!! For the most part the buttons and coins come out in excellent shape, my Connecticut copper i dug in the spring was caked with a lot of green tarnish. But after about ruining it trying to clean it, now i just take my fingers and rub the buttons and coins to get the dirt off and leave them at that, no water. They seem to look better and still have all the detail when i do that.

Agreed. Most buttons we dig the back marks are in excellent condition. The soil is extremely kind to most of the copper coins as well, as long as they weren't already worn down before they were dropped then they turn out great. That 1817 is a beauty, Ryan! Even the stars still have the detail in a couple of them.

Great finds!! That AT Pro is a great machine and one of the best values out there today. I'd recommend it to anyone and it's great for beginners because it's so easy to learn, waterproof and yet they can "grow" with it. Garrett hit a home run with that unit.

Awesome finds, large cents are so cool, I've been detecting for fourteen years, and haven't been lucky enough to find one of those beauties yet!!!! Congrats

Great Buttons & Awesome Large Cents! Way To Go! :icon_thumleft:

Excellent hunt. :hello2: Congrats on two lovely LC's. Glad you're liking your AT Pro. :icon_thumleft:

Thanks, with the smaller coil in this area it would pay off a lot more. There is so many square nails i know there masking out any good signals below.
