I don't make out any crystal faces on your specimen. It appears to be a massive piece of something. More and better pictures would help with sorting it out!
While many precious and semi-precious gems start out growing as a crystal, a vast majority do not end up as such. Due to geological or volcanic events which often interrupt the growing of a crystal by starving them of the heat, pressure and often the minerals needed to grow and due to degradation from environmental contaminants, many gems just end up being impure individual or clusters of stones in the host rocks or even in the rocks surrounding the original host rocks.
