Biggest 22k gold ring I've ever found!

Finally was able to get out to the beach after a long winter. Ice still on the lake but temperature today was 34c. I was working in the wet sand and got a nice crisp loud signal on my AT pro. Using the small 5/8 DD coil, I took a scoop,..still in the hole, and another scoop,..still deeper. I took 3 pretty deep scoops and then finally on the 4th scoop I had it, dumped it out on the side and when I scanned over, it blasted my ears ringing up a solid 79 on my AT pro. My heart was pumping when I seen that bright buttery yellow and the size of it, I knew I had a good one 22k at 17grams...cha ching! Thanks for looking. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1462497555.327732.jpg

Muerte33, Nope, not a real diamond. I had posted an update on the stone, took to 3 diff jewellers and apparently it's a mystic topaz the one gemologist said.

Interesting... Mystic Topaz hasn't been around that long. Info suggests the ring was made in early 1990's at the earliest.

Wow that is a beauty. My best was 16g of 10k and 17g of 22k with a stone to boot. Too bad stone turned out not to be worth much. Still a sweet find. I'm sure the $600 in gold will come in handy : D

My guess on the stone was Smoky Topaz. It still makes a gorgeous ring! Congrats on your awesome banner find! :headbang:

I remember when you first posted this find - one of the reasons I bought a scoop for the water!

It was around this time when I found it. I like to hunt when the ice has just melted off the beach. If you notice in the pics, all the ice lines in the sand. The big ice burgs push sand and stuff around like a bull dozer, so it’s a good time to detect the shore line before things get washed back out. Glad you got a scoop for the water. Hope you’ve found some gold with it.
