Boy am I MAD, MAD, MAD

A few weeks ago I bought some replica coins at a yard sale. Two different sets 12 gold in a wood case and 12 silver in a wood case. (these are all plated) I did my research and listed on ebay. ebay immediatly ended the auction. can't have replica or copy coins on ebay. So I did more research and saw the same things for sale, only they called the "medals" I tried that and the auction stayed up for a few days, then I got a nasty note from ebay telling me they pulled the auctions for the same reason. I am sure some seller of the same thing "reported" me so they have less competition.

So now I am stuck with two very nice display sets until today. I called someone I met at a yard sale last Saturday and we made a trade. He actually has a store two blocks south of Brandy and Jarrod's store. (the witch and the jerk on Storage Wars)

here are the photos of the coins and what I traded for (PS the oldest ones are 1958 and a lot of 1960's. 81 items total.

I'm sure I had that happen to me. I copied ebay's own policy on my response. The second time the items stayed up for the whole auction. The auction was delayed for a day though.

My dad got a catalytic convertor removed because they said he couldn't sell a used one unless for scrap. He clearly put in the title for scrap only and had for scrap only in the description. It is annoying.

You can definitely sell replica coins, but how you do it makes a big difference..... but in this case you might have been targeted at random, which can happen.... but I wouldn't guess one way or the other not having seen the listing.

..Yea, It sounds like you got burned by someone randomly on there. I wil admit, I have complained on a person once that was selling Bogus stuff....But the difference was he was stating that it was a Replica Morgan dollar that he "Believes" to be Silver...and his Auction Title was

"Silver Morgan Dollar Remake"...which when i read it , it made no sense, then i realized all the person was selling was Baby Formula, Video Games and this Fake Morgan.

Im sur eyou werent tryign to be misleading...But this person seemed they knew what they had WASNT Silver

I used to manage an auto salvage yard and there are a couple of different reasons this happened. First of all catalytic converters are commonly stolen and then sold as scrap. I could tell you stories of car dealerships going in on Monday morning to find half the cars on the lot had been jacked up, cats cut off with a battery powered Sawzall, and gone. With scrap prices for them running between $25 & $200 each depending on style & application, they are very popular with the drugies looking for fast money. Only allowing licensed recyclers to deal in them cuts down on this. Second reason is that once it leaves your posession you have no control that it isn't being installed onto someones car. Putting a used one on can result in a $10,000 fine for EACH infraction. The EPA takes that stuff very seriously.

I am in the printing business and we do good work. We never have any kind of pickyness like on that page.

I think most of my MADs might be 8.0 or better.

He relisted it in the category they wanted and everything was fine. The problem with it was, he had it in ebay motors when they wanted it in industrial metals. I definitely agree with what you said, it is a sad world we are living in.
