CtTodd and I had a great day detecting. We went back to a field that we had detected at last fall with good results. Today we walked away with another great handful of finds . We both found many buttons dating from the late 1700 to early 1800s . Todd found a nice buckle and a draped bust large cent and a couple more coronet head large cents. Some of his buttons had some nice detail on them also.

I found a Connecticut copper and 3 other large cents one is 1814 and the other 1843 , two thimbles and a New York militia Excelsior button that dates from about 1792 to 1820 or so.

Amazingly the ground was still frozen in some places. We can't wait for the farmer to turn the field.

Great assortment of finds. Four coppers in one day is a great day but my favorite find is the whizzer toy - love finding them.

Wow, you have some great finds, there!

That's a killer site bud. You guys are going to find a lot more when that field gets turned. This half frozen, half snowy ground is tough to work with.

Thanks folks, Forgot to post a picture of both of our finds from today

Sweet finds. Great early site. Keep Swinging!!

Nice to see you posting again. Glad our ground has finally thawed. Very nice 1786 CT as well as the buckle, buttons and LC's. Don't have time right now to try and figure out what variety the CT is, but at first glance it looks like a 1786 M.5.5-M or 5.6-M.

AWESOME HUNT !!

Great digs from you as always.

Thats a good site, congrats on the coppers and the buckle.
