CRISPINS CRITTERS

Doc, Been there done that and can really feel for you.....rest, rest, and more rest.....shut the mind down, and think yourself well. Your mind and body will quickly heal themselves........Gary

Crispin,
I have a suggestion. ..don't drink anything with sugar ie..Gatorade. .
If needed pedialyte is a better choice, as you know sugar and the like lower the immune system!
Just a little motherly advice..:)

Okay, I'll switch over to water for a while. Although the body also needs sugar to function. When I get two liters in the ER it had dextrose in it. However, at this point in time I am pretty sick of gatorade and I'm sure my kidneys can handle any pending electrolyte imbalance.

Perhaps you should look towards something a bit healthier, something with grain, wheat, hops, barley, malts and pure sparkling spring water.

It's the answer my friend. It's health food in a bottle. Don't even have to chew.

And the upside is that no matter how bad you are feeling, this will make you feel better!

Cheers!

Take some of this Crispin, works for me :tongue3:-

Seriously though, I hope you start feeling better soon. Can't afford to have any sick doctors, you guys are in short supply as it is.

The inhaler is a Godsend!

Crispin,

Take care buddy.....you're made of tough stuff and you can beat this....take your meds and rest.

We're all pulling for you....and yeah send your patients over as GIB says heck we can come up with a solution for almost anything if we put our collective minds to it.

Regards + HH

Bill

No one's on my ignore list....believe me if things had advanced to that point, the feelings would be directly communicated. ..to anyone!
So now when anyone writes lol. ..they can think of you..cool!

Ahh young Dr. Crispin.
Theres a feeling, not far removed from your worst hangover where you think you are going to die ,soon followed by a fear you may not die. That,s all right.
Old school, like my black and white childhood when faced with a horrid lung problem the answer was a mustard plaster. The result of which looked much like a skin graft.
I blame my dear departed mother for my not having much chest hair because of that. It learned me not to be sick enough to catch I guess.
Hang in there, that broken dark riders blade going to do strange things and you may never be the same as before. Your lungs, maybe.
Meds? yes meds. Did not find the originally seen video from sixties of the band looking over an old car body in a field but it was interesting to a youngster who knew little of meds or minds or Elysian fields..

Putting people on ignore just makes it easier for them to talk behind your back.. lol

Hang in there Crispin, you're in for a ride. During my days as a bush firefighter we were taught to mix 1 part Gatoraid with 5 parts water and that combo really seemed to work in regard to hydration while keeping the electrolyte intake steady. I was also put on an inhaler (Ventalin I believe) which really seemed to help. A good rub down with Vicks vapor rub was quite helpful as well to help the breathing. Lot's of rest and try to keep your vitamin intake up while trying to eat foods that will naturally boost your immune system. Take care of yourself and get better then worry about your patients, you can't help them when you're ill.

Well, things started to do downhill last night. I had difficulty breathing, fever of 101.5 and pulse was in the 130s. Coughing like mad and aches and pains all over my body. I had to bite the bullet and go to the ER. Walked into the ER and told them I had pneumonia. After a series of tests they agreed with me. Gave me one gram of rocephin, albuterol nebulizer and motrin, levaquin to take home. I have never had pneumonia before. I strongly recommend nobody try it. I feel closer to death then I ever have in my life. I've been told that is quite common with pneumonia. Now I have one more thing I can empathize with patients on. Anyhow, obviously I can't work today. Also cancelled tomorrow. Guess we are back to one moment at a time.

if you want me to, I can see your patients!
