The rumor on the street for many years was that the coins are buried on a property in vero Beach where he stayed as a fugitive. Total "RUMOR" and nothing to prove this. Just talk on the street, and speculation....not really sure how this rumor came about, but its been repeated to me by a couple different people who are interested in this story. Then sometime last year mysterious calls from someone asking if I knew Tommy, and explaining they were trying to help him ?? Then silence.....they asked about the missing coins.....all i had ever herd was that certain people thought the coins were buried at a certain house in vero that he spent most of his time at while a fugitive.....honestly I didn't even know he was in vero when people said he was ?? I dont believe this rumor, and I cant help but think that where ever he was hiding out would have been thoroughly searched and fully investigated.....or maybe NOT ?? We all know that investigations are often times not as thorough as we often assume they are, and things we generally think would be part of an investigation are overlooked or even missed or ignored. So who knows....did the feds cover that yard with gpr ? If I was Tommy hiding coins I would go deep with the cache to hide them from the normal range of the common detector....in other words I personally would bury them at greater than 4 feet. Personally I think those coins disappeared in Belize like he says....stolen from recievership by corrupt officials there....just my thoughts, and by no means an expert on this....crazy ass treasure drama playing out in front of us in real time !!

At one point i thought to myself....here we go....they are setting up the legend of Tommy Thompsons lost gold for the future of treasure hunting !! My kid will be 40 something one day and hell be the one to dig through my stuff and find the notes on tommys lost gold....treasure hunters for years to come will trace the last footsteps of tommy before he was jailed, and the search will take on the status of legendary lost treasures....one day there will be t.v. and streaming specials with titles like "the search for tommys hidden gold" or fugitive gold hunt, or tommys lost gold !! Money will be made off tommy suffering in jail for years to come....the media will make more from this than the value of all the gold aboard the central America. Tis the American way !!

One more point on Tommy's gold

When I herd this rumor about Tommy's gold in vero, my mind went straight to treasure hunter mode. The logical first step to tracking it down was .... where is this house, and how do I find it ? So my mind says you need to check every article written to see if you can deduce the location of this so called fugitive house. I looked through a bunch of articles, and then boom 💥 there he is standing in the yard of said house in a rare photo from the fugitive days. From the looks of the house I had strong feelings that it was located on the beach side of vero on the island in one of many gated communities there. The landscaping and look of the property made me think beachside community......you guys from the treasure coast know what I mean.....most mainland homes in vero, do not have the absolutely perfect yards that the gated communities on the beach maintain....at that point I let go of trying to pursue this any more than that.....so for those who are actively trying to find those coins....thats my info....find that property, and get permission to search....I would not be surprised if someone already has ?

UPDATE: Ginger was reported as a missing person earlier this year. She was reportedly found recently by police, but I’m not sure anyone has heard from her. Be careful Ginger!
