My 9 yr old finally found her first real artifact! She was so excited and I am very proud :) normally it's lots of triangle shaped rocks, not today!

Too Cool! Congratulations to her!

Good looking creek!

very nice, and her collection begins

A super nice find for her first artifact and she will always remember it. Tell her she has a good eye and is a great hunter:thumbsup:I wish my first one was that nice.

That one has some great color. Frame worthy

:icon_thumleft: Beautiful find, and Congratulations to your daughter. Sure is a pretty banded material.

You have a beautiful daughter and she has a good find.

What a very pretty young lady and what a wonderful find. Congratulations on both!

Thanks everyone! It's funny to hear her talk now, because she gives my husband advice on what to look for, lol. It's great to hear her say, 'Daddy, you need to check if it's been worked." I'm heading out today to buy her a display box for it.

The term gets used too often, but that's truly a once in a lifetime artifact. Nice work.

Twitch, any pun intended here? Lol! That is a nice first find. I love to see a child find artifacts. It gives a child some direction and opens the door to a lifelong hobby. Not only a hobby, but one that can never be mastered. Once a hobby is mastered, it's no fun any longer. This one lives on!!

Bought a small display box for it. I labeled the bottom of it as her first artifact and the date :) She's proud!

Very pretty in the box. Is it a whole piece? I have found knifes just like it that are whole.

I don't think it's whole. Has a clean break, no work.

Some were designed with a snapped base. I have found then before with the snapped base so it might be a whole piece. Still special either way.
