The Digger Show guys are kind of over the top in their lingo, but they seem to be having fun in the hobby. Much better than the wrestler guy who brings in a backhoe. They seem to be clear in that detecting is a hobby about finding and preserving the relics history, and not a get rich thing. I went to their website and found some video clips that haven't been aired. There are some good clips about properly digging holes, using a pinpointer, etc. In one video it explains that once they make a find, the on site Archie takes over and logs the find. The Archie apparently identifies, GPS, photographs, measures, and bag the items. I'm sure the film guys edit out all the real hunting and concentrate of the better finds, but I guess that's necessary to make the show more watchable.

I'd much rather watch Diggers than many other shows being aired today.

I'd rather watch Gold Rush and Bering Sea Gold way better shows!!!

I should have qualified my remarks that pertaining to those shows related to metal detecting, I like Diggers better. I watched the Gold Rush show last season and thought it was pretty good. I wouldn't say anything bad about it, and I hope they strike it rich! My only issue with Gold Rush is this season it seem to take a lot of shows full of drama about running out of money and can they stay afloat. Maybe that's the premise of the show, I don't know. Since I like using my detector and digging holes, I really don't believe I'm qualified to comment on gold mining.

I have an older White V3 and just took delivery of a Garrett AT Pro. Haven't use the AT yet since the weather here sucks We have an old stagecoach trail and a ghost town within 10 miles of my house so I'm sure looking forward to getting back to digging. I also just purchased a new Garrett Pinpointer, so I'm hoping to speed up the process of finds and digging smaller holes.

At first, I thought they were over the top and lame, too, and sometimes they really are. But as has been mentioned, they made a cool show out of an otherwise almost unknown hobby. I like it.

I mean, who is going to watch some guy digging for random finds who is boring? Ya gotta yuck it up a little, or it’ll end up looking like a golf tournament on Vicodin.

Plus, I like how excited they get. You can tell they truly love what they are doing. So few really love anything they do these days that it’s refreshing to watch them go nuts over finds.

Very cool. I just liked the way the MTX has the three in-one MD. Just learning how to use it only had it a month. Would love to get out on sum old trails with it. I have a whites pinpointer works well.
