Can't see myself watching any more just to see the commercials.

Yeah, I was going to point that out too...to say, they're changing/getting better is just perception...the whole season is in the can before the first episode aires. So, they aren't adjusting as they go...

Yea I'm sure the whole season was done during warm weather
they couldn't have done the PA or N.J shows too recently.

Just seems odd to the point I wonder if there was any last minute editing.

I too saw some improvement. Maybe they have done some more editing. Now Ghost Town Gold, that seams realistic. The guys speak English, act normal, and the pricing is realistic. No MD, but great TH. Frank

They use the term juice for the good things they find. I think they are hitting the juice to hard. I watch the show just because I like to dig dirt. There are too many commericals about other shows. When you watch the other shows, they show the diggers commericals. After the commerical is over, they waste half the time going over what happened before the commercial. Between the commercials and the pre commercial breifing, you get about a 5 minute show.

It just shows you that anyone will sell out anything they love, and damn the consequences and damage they do so long as THEY get their "15 minutes of fame"

Hopefully it dies out before it does any more damage.

Well my wife saw a commercial for his new show. Its just him his boy ans wife MDing and yes he yells in this one too lol

Possibly just perception, possibly not.. There have been threads critiquing, criticizing the show since the first episode. Reading all of the comments here on TNet from both sides is certain to have an effect on both them and the show. It would be ignorant to ignore our comments.

On a side note, has anyone else noticed that they (montanagold) only posts in "Diggers" threads that they start and never comment on anyone else's?

I ran across this on youtube yesterday and watched 3 of the 5 episodes. It was produced by Minelab ( the hunters are using GPX 4800/5000s I believe). Aside from being Minelab, it really captures a more realistic view of what happens on the hunt.I think it is better quality than the Diggers show on Nat Geo.These guys like to have fun but they don't get silly about it.Check it out:

I like the show, hate the antics. . . . I get pretty excited when I find cool stuff, but the bet names for treasure really has to go. . . I mean really, tweasable G? Roundness? We may have a language of our own, but we don't speak dorkinese. . . .

What I like about the show is the fact that it's metal detecting. It may be cheezy, bad acting and obnoxious antics, but it's still detecting, so for me, I'll take it. When it comes on, I'll watch and look to the spring thaw when I can go out and search for treasure and have people ask me if I've found any roundness and tweasable g.

Stupidest show I have ever seen, bar none. It's 100% scripted nonsense. It's like a bunch of hollywood writers sat down and came up with a show pulling crap out of their azz.... just look at the vocabulary that NO ONE uses! Sil-G-roundness-civ-more roundness-etc. etc...... completely made up terminology, and yes I can't stand the beeping inappropriately also.

We watch it and enjoy seeing the finds. We take it as entertainment but as oths have said the pet names king G, roundness and the antics. I sure hope others dont think all people who md are morons like this.

I yell out stuff like "HI-HO Silver!!!" when I find a silver coin...I would do a happy dance if I ever found a seated or older coin...But I would nevr act like a 3 yr old on crack like those guys do...OF COURSE the show is staged...boredom does not get ratings...truth does not get ratings...people watch TV to escape from reality...Or they smoke crack...your choice.

Bothers me they act surprised they found something! I mean, after you dig hundreds of targets, how can you be surprised you found something?
And they act like everything they find is a $20 gold piece. Maybe I suffer the same apathy as Jess in PA. Natural tranquilizers.
If I ever dig up a chest filled with diamonds and gold, all bets are off. But they have to act excited so you'll stick around until after the commercials to see what they found.

I think they would be fun to dig with once the cameras are off. They just seem to be fun-loving guys doing their own thing.
