It's just the way I roll... and Sanjay Gupta was already taken. :D

I wanted something reflecting the ocean since it's such a part of life here. :icon_sunny:

Me and the wife with two of the grandkids outside a church in Arvada, CO, after Easter services. An extremely rare photo of me in the proximity of a church, and photographic proof I did not burst into flames.

Just rambling...

Whenever I see an interesting post and it has an animated avatar, I generally will avoid it...the constant motion is extremely distracting to me and makes it hard to concentrate on the text of the message...

I do enjoy most avatars and try to figure out the person and the relationship of its implication...

Now, if its a mug shot...its easy to explain...duh

However, what I have noticed is that a half dozen or so people are using the same or similar avatar of a cartoon character using a MD unit...where is the originality in those statements?

A rare coin or a relic, on the other hand, indicates pride in the find...

Think I will stop while I'm ahead :laughing7: (instead of being a behind)

I think the animated ones with a metal detector are free to use from TNet?
Don't have to upload one yourself etc, easier for some users. :)

Sorry, I haven't posted in a while.

I try to change the avatar every 100 posts or so. Most are historic photos from near where I live and work. This one is from where I've been working all summer, doing restoration work.

I guess you could say that, in a way, it's egoistic/self promotional.

P.S.: Man, am I a dumba$$! I can't be promotional if you've got a postage stamp to look at.

IP... I have always wondered about your avatar. Anytime I see one of your posts, I'm picturing this character swinging his Explorer. Got any other "mug" shots?

Oh.... My avatar is one of my favorite finds. Counterfeit Machin's Mill KG III. Best condition KG I've ever found.

Mine fits me. probaly never change it

I started a Karaoke Business called Wildcat Karaoke. Haven't got time for it now. Too much detecting to do...
Still have great parties at home sometimes. Plenty of lights and smoke... Made more money than detecting though.

The Cat

Holiday ones for the occasion, my kitty w/ toliet paper well its happened, and my other favorite I reallly like to use when the Rowdy Bunch going to get togeather the silote of the cowgirl in a tub and Jeff is the out house siloete!

My avatar is a reminder and representation of my past life before retirement, always being ready and prepared to take action at a moments notice. And it kinda looks like me too!!!!!
