Dr. Sanjay Gupta: I Was Wrong About Medicinal Marijuana

Hey Chadeaux!! Talk About turning Poverty into Posterity, when They turn THC loose, everything North of the Arkansas River will Flourish, as if it doesn't already!! He He!! GOOD HUNTING!! VERDE!!

What about HEMP...? Even George Washington grew it...

Hemp for fabrics and rope etc was grown in lots of places but I don't think it will make you high. There is a hemp movement here that talks of the benefits of the fabric. If I remember I think Indiana was a big producer before the 1939 tax act.

Beer or pot,you decide.I say pot,ban or put more restrictions on alcohol.

Its is so gratifying to see a few states stand up and tell the Feds to back off!! Time for change has come and gone and as if we or they did not learn from prohibation that you cannot regulate what is illegal you can only react to the peoples activites over said probates. The time of the oil companies and the old textile empires are over and they are not in their death throws but still abile to strike out at any one or thing that threatens their profits. People are finally waking up some what to the facts that our Gov. not only is crooked and underhanded and run by big business but that it is no longer by the people and for the people. Our own actions over the years have allowed this and now we are all paying the price with higher taxes lower income lack of medical care for so many. Time we as a nation said enough and put this fat cat gov back in its place working for us and not big business!! So speak out folks and stop putting these same old businessw owned politicians back in office!!!Remember life is like a box of chocolates,,, until the gov tell you to give it up or go to jail!!! LOL

:hello:It does have some THC; not enough to get you "high". If HEMP is used for muscle pain... SOMEONE should do research to see if it can stop physical ill feelings of ppl in TERMINAL stages of cancer... it is NOT legal to grow in VIRGINIA (STATE Law... NOT "FED"). :coffee2:

roygpa........I have my own attitude about pot but one thing I will say, if my mother were alive today and needed some pot to make her last days a little more comfortable, she would get it. To hell with the "law". They don't put criminals in jail half the time, what will they do to your mother?? It's easy to find.........................best to your mom.

Somehow I can't see using a Jimi Hendrix video as a poster child for promoting legalized drug use.

Well,it seems if i get silly,i get banned,my pages get taken down? You think some of the things i say are a joke, but i can back up what i speak of.There are things being done that took me years and years to understand and i try to explain to help others understand, but you should just step back and think. You do not know were i have worked, been exposed to.There are US contractors that have taken power into there hands for laughs and think they are going to get away with it.Not on my watch.

One doctor says he was mistaken about "Dope" and Yeah -Hey, Let's legalize it!!!!!!! Our hero's should be Hendricks, Joplin, Morrison, the list goes on & on & on. It's not a debate on whether alcohol or Dope is worse, they both claim countless lives........Let's get more stoned drivers on the road with a reaction time of a sloth.....good thinking!!!!!!! Yeahhhhhhhh!!!!!! Never mind that I have lost loved ones to this very behavior.

Starts with pot - then speed- then Cocaine - then ? < - - - - - Of course, not everyone, but the majority for sure......

Washington is already having BIG problems with legalizing it - check into it.........

Its intriguing to see what kind opinions people have on this subject. I am pro cannabis for the record, but i dont knock anyone who isnt. Some facts to think about:

One acre of hemp ( not the stuff that gets you high) produces the same amount of cellulose fibers as 4.1 acres of forest.

Trees that are used in the industry take about 20 years to mature vs industrial hemp taking 4 months.

You would need to smoke about 1000 pounds simultaneously in order to overdose.

Actually, it starts with sugar, then caffeine, then alcohol and possibly nicotine.
Humans are surrounded by addictive substances from the time they are young
children on.

Saying that MJ leads to addiction of dangerous substances is not
accurate, as has been shown in numerous published studies:

Gateway drug theory - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The only problems Washington is having is because their "business model"
was so full of problems even the Medical Marijuana community tried to
talk them (State) out of it. The State is making great efforts to squeeze every
possible penny of revenue from the citizens who overwhelmingly voted for
the passage of the law.

The LE in my county can now stop having to waste all their time booking adults
for less than 1 oz. in possession, and focus on the serious issues, instead.

I respect your right to your own opinion(s), but I feel that the most important thing
(for us all) is making sure our opinions are based on empirical evidence, and not
government innuendo.

I agree completely and couldnt have said it better myself. Sugar definitely is the start. How many kids do you see crying and begging for some pop? And to go even further, i think its safe to say the number one addictive substance in the country today is MSG. Theres a reason why we have the most obese people out of every other country

Thanks Dizzy - I respect your opinion as well - I just go by what I have lived: I grew up in a nice area, out of 18 people we all "partied with" everyday -
2 - have families and steady jobs
4 - Are dead from drugs IE" crack / Meth
2 - Are dead from Alcohol
4 - Are in prison or have been in for drug related crimes.
6 - Are bouncing from job to job, living at home or in poor living conditions.

And drum roll please.................................................................................They ALL started out with Dope.

Good luck and I hope eveyone can see the horrible affects drugs can cause.................

Not one documented case of pot killing a human.Pot makes teenagers drive slower.Pot inhibits less aggressive behavior. The gate way drug.I have smoked it for thirty years and have never taken those other drugs you speak of.More reefer madness.Pot lets one see the self serving laws that make no sense is why it is banned.

I live in San Francisco for now and about every three blocks there's a "medical wellness" clinic, you'd think the entire City has some dread illness. Whatever, I smoke a spliff with friends in a disco, preferably Europe or Australia, that's about it, but better than drinking alcohol.
