Spent the day at Iowa Hill and was pleasenty suprised. I actually never dug much in mineral bar only visiting the place in walking to more remote places up river. Anyway the company I was in was older and wasn't up for an adventure just a relaxing day of digging. So we kept the hike short and easy to the dig site. Our first bucket was showing color and soon we realized that bedrock was anywhere from 6 inches to god knows. out came the rock bar and hand dredge and we tried to destroy all bedrock we could and get in a bucket. Can't say we ran a whole lot of material (old men like chitchat) but it prompted my return tomorrow. If it wasn't for the eye sore of the bridge constantly in sight I could have been content to spend the pre season around that Bar.
