Hello folks, many of us have very creative usernames. I thought since I was not doing nothing right now, it would be nice to see why some people chose their usernames on here.

I'll start off.

Many people think that I am from Buffalo, NY. I am not from Buffalo, NY.

I chose this username because when I was a young boy, probrably 5 or 6, my grandfather gave me a few coins, and in them, some dateless buffalo nickels. I thought that the buffalo nickel was the most interesting coin, and I started collecting them.

Needless to say, buffalo nickels with no date are only worth face value, maybe add a penny or two.

The buffalo nickel still remains my favorite coin to collect, plus, who knows what goodies you can find in nickel boxes...

Mine originated from a game of bowling one day many years ago. My nickname has always been Bear. My wife ( girlfriend at the time) was entering names for the four of us bowling and was putting up nicknames or twists to our names. At first she spelled BearB for my nickname and first letter of my last name. As soon as she looked at it she said "Hey" and added the Q like barbecue. It stuck and later I became Bear B qued
My avatar is of my first and best condition Union Officers Sword Belt Plate found in 2005.

Mine's not very creative, last name's Kleinschmidt, coaches always called me schmitty or kleinerschmitter in high school and college sports so it kinda stuck. My avatar is of me at my graduation party from Texas A&M, I'm holding a cake but I cropped that out.

With so many more members joining, I am sure a few more names could be added to this list :)

Well...

"tallguybry" - I'm 6'4". I'm a guy. My name is Bryan

My avatar is a picture of me in the engineer's seat of CSX 7575. I worked in the railroad industry for over 14 years until I was furloughed in January of last year. I'm currently working retail to keep the insurance going.

I picked up the nickname of Beans when I was stationed at Ft. Greely AK. in the mid 70s. Avatar: I was a lifer in the Army and this is one of my favorite patches - 56th Field Artillery Brigade (Pershing).

I was a beach lifeguard in LA County for 15 years, Santa Monica and Venice Beaches. Lyfeguard was my first user name on my first email account and it stuck with me ever since.

My user name refers to the periodic chart. Silver is 47th element.

As for the avatar kinda generic. I haven't found anything that exciting to use.

Sagittarius - my zodiac symbol
98- my birthdate

avatar-medal for winning the School Geography Bee

the reason I chose TheCoinFinder I have found over a $100
just on the street alone and then I found out about CRHunting
and it seems keepers just keep coming finding keepers
in rolls that have already searched.
and the pirate for obvious reasons :icon_thumright:

My first good find 08p shattered die dime, named it Frankendime. (very recently)

Avatar: Pic of my dime.

I mark my coins with a silver sharpie so I thought my name was appropriate. If any of you Socal boys and girls find a coin with a silver edge and the date crossed off... You'll know where it came from.
