Hey guys, sorry, I know I have just dropped off the radar here the last few weeks, we've had a lot going on. Well, lets start with my find, I had a box last night ( outta 4 boxes) that had this lone 1970 in it! I have been looking for this coin for over a year now and gone through hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of boxes and here it is!

Here are some pics of this weeks finds too, I did 24 boxes this week, not stellar results, but this is how it has been the last few weeks, about 90% of my boxes are skunks ( and some repacks showed up too:BangHead:) and the boxes that do have some aren't very much. This week was 19 40's and 8 90's out of 24 boxes, the Franklin ender box only had 6 Bens and 3 40's in it ( kinda a let down for 3 Benders).

The shot gun, well, I found a local gun store here that the guy would trade Silver at, so I got this brand new ( Bad ass) "Mosberge 590 Special Purpose Mariner Edition" 12 gauge) for 150 40's ( which equates out to 75.00 in face value for the coins) he gave me $3.50 a piece, those of you who know about guns know what this is, holds 8 +1 rounds of 2 3/4 inch shells and 7+1 of 3 inch shells, bad ass home defense set up here.

Ok, now for the crappy part of life here, my brother in law ( who lives in the house right next door) works for me, well he hasn't been feeling so good the last couple of weeks and about 2 weeks ago his stomach began to swell and destend, we keeped telling him to go to the Dr. and get looked at, well he finally went a week later and was told to go to the hospital for cat scan of his stomach and liver, he tried to wait till the next day to go and we ended up physically dragging him in my truck and took him to the hospital kicking and screaming. So, he has lumps and noduals all on his liver and they say it is also suroses ( spelling), so things are not good here right now, and we may have to be preparing for the worst ( we are not ready to endure what is coming), we are hoping for the best though, modern technology and medicine and stuff have come a long way.

So, now you guys kinda know whats been going on here, it has been a lot to deal with, my son has the flue now too, Dr. gave him Tama flue Script yesterday and he has been in bed miserable for over a day now.

I haven't really been able to keep up on everyone here so I may have missed some great finds, sorry, I hope you all are doing well. I do still log in every night or 2 to check my messages and skim the site real qwik so don't be a stranger, I'll respond to your PM.
Ok guys ( and gals, sorry "Apush", I wouldn't forget about you) I got a bunch of stuff to do now, I'll check in later tonight.
Take care everyone and HH, Maverick.

Nice to see you back Mav. Sorry to hear some things aren't going well, but that's very much how life works. I hope things get better. In the meantime, cools finds, cool gun, and I hope you continue to find more stuff worth posting so you have more reason to post! :)

Sweet Mossberg! I was looking at one a few months ago.

Good to hear from you Mav, looks like you've been doing good, sorry to hear about the issues at home.
Sure is a stubby on that ol Mossberg!

Glad to see you posting again, sorry to learn of your BIL illness. Hope it turns out well. Congrats on the 70. That one has eluded me too. LOL at dude who thought you sold 150 40% for $75........

Take care. Be safe.

Mav, Did you misprint the part talking about the gun?? 150 40% for 75 bucks?? Did you mean 475?

And dammmm thats alot for a 12g!! Around here they go used for 300ish. for the 500 and 590's, same with rem 870's.

Im glad you got your 70 finally!!! Too bad its not a proof!! Atleast you still have that one to find!!

I completed a CRH Bucket list item myself today... Finally found a bicentennial silver proof!!!!(ill post a weekly thread hopefully later)

HH!!!

Hey Info, I fixed it now in the op, I meant it was $75.00 in face value for the coins, he gave me $ 3.50 a piece for them. Guns have gone up, This is a brand new Mosberge, not used. I didn't think it was that bad of a deal really, they are listed for more than that at other places around me. HH, Maverick.

Ah right on! I dont even own any shotguns, been thinking about it for quite a while... just dont need more types of ammo to try and buy! lol

Yeah I hate the price increases going on... im pretty well set, but like to replace what I use as well... Ive just been patient, not panic buying... if you wait out the old prices, you can find them here and there... even online still. Glad I was mostly stocked up when it all started.

Great post, and a great deal on that gun. Nice work. Tell your brother-in-law to hang in there. I'll put in a good word for him with the man upstairs.

Nice finds buddy!

I think you need to change your avatar to your 1970 half next to your gun. :)

Hey Mav, nice week! I am sorry to hear about the condition of a loved family member of yours, I hope everything works out for the best...
Best wishes to you and yours,
BuffaloBoy

Mav... sorry to hear about your brother in law ... hope things turn out ok. Recently back from a Tombstone / Austin / Lafayette / New Orleans / Oklahoma City / Albuquerque / Flagstaff road trip with the family... haven't ordered any half dollar boxes yet; been sticking with dimes. Finding a little silver per box beats my skunky half boxes...
Great finds... gonna order next week maybe so I can find that elusive ender, or Walker... however, I was able to complete my first roll of dimes earlier this week.... wife gave me the look when I pointed out small banks on our trip and wondered aloud about rolls of halves... lol. HH...!

If I knew someone that traded guns for 40%ers I wouldnt have any silver left:-) I have a mossberg model 88, cheapest one out there but it shoots straight.. Nice find with the 70, it's on my wish list

crh wish list-
1970
1976s silver (in the wild) I have a graded set of bi-centenials
Commemorative- specifically the 1918 Lincoln Half Dollar
Barber

Hey Buddy.. Sorry to hear about your brother in law.. I hope he becomes healthy once again.. Glad to see you found some silver though... Love the 70D
