IMG_0502.webpon the left is the largest complete hook i have ever found....the middle is a more common size.....the one on the right was given to me by twitko's son trevor .....
.....and found at our site one morning

IMG_0505.webpdang close to 4"long too bad it is broke.....maybe dr gomer can help me

IMG_0508.webpthe 4 oval shaped pieces are unfinished hook blanks which are supposed to yield two hooks per blank.....if you look at the piece on the lower left yo
might be able to deduct how one blank can yield two hooks......unless it breaks like this one......

do you see the two hooks (now broke) that had a double point on them??.....one is on the bottom center,......the other is on the upper right on second row below the broke

Holy Moses that's a lot of fish hooks you have there!
There a rare find down here but they are around... Difference being the deer toe bone was the favored bone of choice to make them.
Only one per bone of those

:notworthy: That is one Whopper of a fish hook! And a BIG fish at that was on the menu.

must have been some decent sized fish out there for those hooks...and some huge worms ha.

You sir, have some amazing artifacts. Thanks for sharing.

Those are super lookin pieces Larson!!! That large hook is a MONSTER!!! I really like your process pieces... I have a good friend from Ohio that has the most beauty frame of the complete process of how they made hooks.. It's only takin him over 30 years to dig them all up!!! lol The next time I'm over that way I'll take a pic of it. I think you'll be very impressed.. HH.....

amazing! I was wondering what you were up to with this cold weather we are having. Been waiting for you to get bored enough to start posting old finds, & hopefully share some of the history you have learned over the years. Stay warm

A super nice collection of hooks Steve and very fine:notworthy:
