2 things to say about this

#1 I know very little about points as I've only hunted them a few times in Kentucky, but I do know a good looking point when I see one. Congrats!!

#2 Manchu Folsom.....catchy :icon_thumright:

You can't do any better than that. Congratulations on one of the most spectacular Banner finds I have seen on TNet!

sweet point Manchu!!! Congrats on the banner!!! oops... now I've gone green with envy. Just a beautiful point. :headbang:

Whitecounty , this is truly a superior example , priceless , this example there is no limit that can be reached . Cosmos were with you on this one Manchu !

At a well represented artifact auction, with 2 or 3 papers(COA's), My guess is that it would bring between 4 and 8 thousand. Now if you get a couple guys going crazy over it, it just may touch the 5 figure mark. But none of that matters because that is a priceless keeper for the finder :hello2: :hello2:

As a sidenote, the economy has hurt values a bit and a few years back I would have said 10K all day long. I have a 5 1/2" translucent agatized coral double fluted clovis from the suwannee river that I was offered 10K for a few years ago. It is probably only in the 4 to 8 range now though. No biggie, I'll never sell it! The high end such as this ones quality haven't suffered nearly as much as the say $500-$1000 points.

very very nice piece...looks as if it was even longer at one time....can you imagine that.....still very very nice :headbang: :hello2: :notworthy:

man, awesome point

What a piece of work! You are one lucky dog! I can make points that exceed the quality of what I usually find, but this 'uns a doozy.

I have not posted on here for a while, but after seeing this find I had to log in and say WOW!!! Congrats on your find of a lifetime! That's gonna be tough to top.

Hey, Im sure you guys only hunt on private property right? Because otherwise thats ilegal and damaging to the archaeological record...

Western, that comment actually pisses me off.......
I think everyone follows the same code of ethics on here right? Do you tell this to every member that finds a confederate button where the soldier got slain at that very spot? Or how about that mini ball that took anothers life and lays on the field untill a metal detector comes upon it? Or better yet that chain cent that was found at an old foundation? Pretty damn archaeologicaly important too right? OF COURSE
So chill out and enjoy the pictures

This point is so cool I had to check it out again.

I don't hunt for points and really know nothing about them but for some reason I love seeing them up on the banner. Once I have so spare leisure time I may have to try out a hunt for these bad boys. Although I don't usually see any banner points coming from the NE U.S. of A it still would be cool to find some.

Thanks again for sharing.
