Found my first 1877 Indian Head!

It took a couple hundred Indian Heads to finally find the one I have been hopeing for. I haven't posted in a while because I took an extended break from metal detecting. Decided to go out today and take advantage of the rain soaked soil. Couldn't believe my eyes when I saw those two seven's. I was using my 8" coil and it was about 6-7" deep.

Thanks for showing! For those who dont know, 1877 is the rarest of the Indian Head Cents. In this condition the retail value is almost $1,000.

Wow, congrats!!

Be careful with throwing out retail prices on dug coins - especially copper. Usually a quick search through ebay completed listings will get you a reasonable value of a coin.

I need to buy a detector again. I wish I did not have to sell my E-Trac when I did. Oh well I will get a new one.
Brett I showed my girlfriend Lynne your picture on my phone and told her how much the coin was worth and she told
me I need to get another one. I will sometime, probably next year.

Great find. Ihave had alot of lack last two weeks with Indian Heads. I will have to post them as well. Yours is ALOT better than my 1882 IH. It took me forever to get a date off of it.
