Gold heading for $5,000 ?

Here's the most bullish forcast I've found. Unless all the world's countries start singing Kumbaya instead of sabotaging each others economies I don't see no bears any time soon. I'm thinkng 5K for 2025, 6K for 2026 and 7K for 2027.
2028 is a major election year so the inevitable market instability is likely to keep PMs high.
Also check out DTREF and USAR if you are more a stock guy.

The 1980 price value for silver is about $12. So to reach the $50 mark that it hit back then it has to go four times higher than it is now. That would put it about $200.

here is an odd phenomenon.... as gold prices rise the "cost" of collectors coins does not rise at the same pace. Right now I am doing well on Portuguese (Brazilian) and Spanish Colonial gold.

That's not terribly odd. Collector coins are not usually priced solely on their bullion value.

Are you saying your collector coins are doing better than spot increases or worse?

it's like this... first of all, Brazilian gold just isn't as popular a collector coin as say Spanish colonial, so I have been doing pretty good at auctions, as there is way less competition. Now with an auction, of course, if two guys want it, the object can go way over price. But with gold so high right now.... there is way less competition. Folks seem scared to toss their hat in the ring, expecting, I guess, that gold is going to fall. As a result, I am picking up some, what I think are bargains. The collector value is being usurped by the ounce value.

When everyone starts sucking on the tit of the proverbial cash cow their comes a time the milk runs dry ( Demand ). Then the crash will come. gold buyers at present are hoping for quick profit. their enthusiasm is fueling others to do the same. Hysteria driven demand will invariably will set the higher prices. When the bubble bursts many who bought when gold prices was high is going to get stung. it is a poor investment strategy to place all of ones eggs in the same basket.

Gold is long term investment but at present short term speculators are driving up prices hoping to make a quick buck. I am progressively selling off gold in stages over all I quadrupled my net worth.

People forget you only make money when you sell gold for profit capital gains. Property and shares can generate income and still increase in value as an asset with capital gains over time.

I tend to have diversified range of investments. Property, shares, precious mental and commodities. if one fails other gains in others areas can mitigate any losses.

People who can afford to by gold is see it as safe haven as global markets are in turmoil as many counties in decoupling from the global economy is facing rising inflation and a labor shortage. The monkey in the room is that us in west and Russian and even China have falling birth rates and our population is aging. Thus there will be more demand on age care that are already stretched. So there is many driving factors going on driving gold prices. 2026 to 2030 is going to be dangerous geopolitical times especially 2027 When it is believed CCP will invade Taiwan thus trying to corner the global semi conductor market.

All of these factors and short term investors are driving gold prices. It would not surprise me to see gold hitting 7000 an ounce at it current rate of growth and demand in the next 2 years.

In 1980, the gold-to-silver ratio dropped to extreme lows, hitting about 15:1 during a speculative market rush in January. For the entire year, the annual average gold-to-silver ratio was 29.29:1.

The gold-to-silver ratio is approximately 80:1 as of October 15, 2025. This means it takes about 80 ounces of silver to equal the value of one ounce of gold. A high ratio like this suggests silver is relatively undervalued compared to gold.

So using the rational of gold/silver ratio from 45 yrs ago silver would be priced at $150

The gold-silver ratio has frequently traded near or above 80:1 since the mid-1980s.

All western countries are using the same play book mate. Your problems there are exactly ours here, and the UK, France, Germany and many many others. Everything wrong here is exactly whats wrong I hear from mates in England. Every civilization crashed, now its our (Westerns) turn. It aint gonna get better, everything that's wrong, its only just started so buckle up. I said to my misses 10 yrs ago when I noticed a shift in people's attitudes and everything which has been driven by policies and so on "its beginning, our western ways are coming to an end. People are going to start turning on each other." And wow have they ever here. Murders are off the chart now from 10 yrs ago. Children are killing adults. It was unheard of here in the past, now its every day. Girls in their early teens are bashing and killing people.
Its been orchestrated no iffs, globally. Its only just begun. Looks bad now, ha, its just the tip of the iceberg.
Ton more to say but I think id get in trouble here if I did.
Suffice to say, its begun.

I agree. I understand there is some things we cannot comment here. But I agree with what you cannot say. Many can see it all over the western world living standards have gone backwards. people are becoming more angrier and more violent. And Covid19 gave the western world a big wake up call.

For me covid19 was personal as I lost family members to Covid19 and we all know which state actor who involved in that one? There is growing fear that THAT state actor have infiltrated our universities, our eCommerce our social media and waging a shadow war against us. In the old days it was called the 5th column divide and conquer. People in street can see this and the fear is there that we have very unstable times ahead. So many are hedging their bets against this global uncertainty by buying gold.

I just read an interesting article on what destroyed the Roman empire. It was not invasion but it inflation. it could not afford to police its empire anymore. When the roman empire pulled out of Roman Britain it functioned for decades slowly descending into a slow decline into anarchy. That is why you find so many gold and coin caches in the UK today.

History is repeating itself. UK is slowing going through that now. The average living standards are declining in all once proud democratic countries. Once again gold will be hoarded and once again treasure troves will be buried.

This process repeats itself world over. Gold is and always will be the safe haven in a time of crisis.

Yeah. And the cue it was going to happen as with others was the collapse of morality and open sexual immorality. Our cultures are ripe with both right now.
Hey check out the video of people here queuing up to buy silver and gold.
