Today I went out and hit a site after I finished up with work and froze my butt off.
Started out digging some flat buttons and then I dug part of a spur. Carried on a bit more and then came the barrel taps. Short while later came the first LC for the year, in pretty good shape.
All in all a great hunt!
Happy Hunting,

Hill

Awesome hunt for ya HB, that Large Cent would have warmed me up right quick.

Sniff it was cold out there...would have taken a fire to warm you up.

That was a nice hunt HB!!! I ilke the well struck LC with not too much circulation. The soil was easy on it too. Very nice coin and plenty of flatties to start the year off right. HH and stay warm, Quindy.

Yeah Quindy the flatties have been flowin, The LC hadn't seen much circulation based on it's condition.
Hopefully we will get some warmer weather soon, I'm ready for some diggin.

Well done HB.
So that's what an LC looks like. :icon_scratch: :tongue3: :laughing9: Nice coin buddy.
I like finding those decorative suspender clips too. I remember Buckles posts always seemed to have those in the Iron Brigades posts.
Congrats,
Doug

Yep Doug, that's what they look like. :tongue3:
My goal is to find atleast 10 this year... I hope I can do it.
That suspender clip was tied up in a knot almost, look at it in the first pic near the the bottom.
It was fun trying to straighten it without breaking it.
Looks like snow for 3 days so no hunting anytime soon for me >:(.

Nice spur. I found a similar one in VA about a year ago.
Thanks for your reply.

Nice hunt there Brutha, definitely nothing wrong with a copper and some relics! :headbang:

nice large cent :icon_thumleft: MR TUFF

The large cent has lots of character to it. Beware of the Hillbilly Beast when you are there alone. Last seen in Anderson Co. per the History Channel.

Googled Hill Billy Beast and this was what I came up with.
Ain't skeered!

Nice digs!

I'm still envious....I'm getting the fevah to head out and dig...but where???? That's my latest quest....find a warm place to live and let dig:)

No sooner than I get my complete spur, you gotta go dig another piece of one. 8) That's a great hunt, guy! A nice looking largie like that has a home in any collection. Nice restoration on the suspender clip. Boiling water?

Wish I'd gone with you that day instead of what I ended up doing! ::)

Hey, don't step on one of your spurs when you step out of bed in the morning. :tongue3:

Nice work, my friend.
