update: thanks for all the comments for these finds, ive been looking at them all day, this site was settled as early as 1712 so it could have been buried then or a later time, but i will not scrap, separate, or sell, in case anybody was wandering......Just went to a new field where a early 1900s house was and pulled a silver half and Rosie. Then I get a deep faint target and over a foot deep I get this silver plated case. And 4 gold rings inside! They tested at least 10k except one is 18k. Holy crap, I'm still out here in the field going at it, but had to post this. 1 has a date of 1730 and another has a date of 1732. Could they be this old? Will get more pics when I get home

Some more pics real quick, looks like the tin they were in is silver! 1 ring says nothing, 1 says g p g 22 Jan 1732 on inside, 1 says hearts united live contented on inside, and last one says George king obe 4 oct 1730

There's a marking on the tin they were in, see pic

You found actual buried treasure. Way cool. Banner vote and congratulations!

Amazing...unless I missed it I still haven't seen what the inscription says...it's clear there's at least one...Please post and certainly understand if you have to remove a word or two if it could compromise your site location. Congrats!

On one of my previous posts in the 1877 ihc banner thread I said "how do you follow that?" As great as the 1877 ihc is, this is how you follow it up.. Still super excited for you. I have showed about 20 different people already.. :)

What everyone else said!! But, I don't dream of a find like that. If I even thought about it I wouldn't be able to close my eyes!:laughing7:

Speechless as well...jaw still on the floor!

wow

I'd love to see more pictures too - the silver container especially

Dream find.!! Dont know how I missed it until now.

To find an item from the 1700s, what a thrill! To find a gold ring, huge score! To find a cache, I can't even imagine, it's one of things we're all out there for! Not only does this hit on all those multiple levels, it is one of the coolest finds I've seen in a long time. Congrats on your discovery!

The metal detecting Gods are going to even up your finds by making you dig only rotted zincolns for the next year and a half.

Absolutely amazing.

A posey ring is the #1 item that I want to find and you done did it. This is beyond incredible and I'm super happy for you.

Me too. I just want a piece of one. 😂
