I Never Saw a Mercury Dime Like This Before!

After 34 years in this hobby I thought I had seen it all! Today I dug up a 1944 mercury dime that had been turned into a button! I dug down about 6 inches to retrieve this little beauty!

Also dug out a 1939-S merc, a 59 Rosie, and 9 wheaties. All were from 3 different medians in the city.

same condition on a Merc found along a highway once and the Barber dime this week from cornfield came out looking like clad dime. Mutha Nature can be cruel

aluminum foil & baking soda bath will make her pretty again

I have found a few of them here. I even found a walking liberty half that was made into a button. Mine were all flat though. Nice digs.

I found a 1963D Franklin half that is made into a button just like that merc. Nice find!

Cut the button off your pants and sew that one on. You could enjoy it all the time. Just kidding....put it in a case....its to cool to risk getting lost again !! Congrats.
