Ask AI how many people were killed in the 2016 Karrada attack when a car bomb got through an Iraqi checkpoint that was using a dowsing rod (ADE 651) to detect explosives. A direct descendant of the golf ball finder.
BTW, I own one of those golf ball finders, in the original box. It's all fun-n-games until someone gets blown to smithereens.
Its cool that you own this specific kind of device.
And i dont believe this device would be
any more effective in stopping bombs in checkpoints than ordinary welding rods, they were certainly more effective in putting money in the bank accounts, what these guys did were unforgivable. If their honest goal was
saving lives, they would have been happy with getting $100 per device.
The man behind this made a lot of money, he believed his Temu quality devices were worth the money he received, just after he got
10 years of free hotel accomodation,he said to the TV reporters he still believes his devices work as intended, and that
no customers
ever complained.
The customer lists of these devices are long, a lot of surprising agencies promoted the devices - the end result was they had to completely
ban the export, marketing or distribution of these devices, because everyone who tests them believes they work, and want to
buy more of them.
I am sure the customers received demonstrations and did their own tests to decide if it works for them, and we can be 100%
certain even with the bribery involved, the devices did convince the operators they worked, but
it was not the devices that worked,
it depended on the operators. McCormick had the Iraqi checkpoint solders march and stomp their feet as per TV news investigations.
It was a mess, even if McCormick got the ADS's finest in to help him optimize his scam, he would have been going to for that hotel stay.
Other than that, the original golf ball detector and its VHS was worth its money.
