This hobby can be funny sometimes when a difficult find comes before an easy one, and the easy one just doesn't want to come.

Mine is....

I found a 1795 Large Cent but still haven't found my first Merc dime!

I had the EXACT same feeling up into the middle of the sumer, i had a 1795 colonial spanish 8 escudos (period counterfeit), 1857 large cent, and 1888 seated dime- yet i still didn't have a merc or a injun. I traveled to better pastures in south dakota and upper michigan and got 3 mercs and 1874 injun.....but i still need a buff and a barber dime to finish my barber set

I have found a cache consisting of a ponds cold cream jar with 8 big silvers in it. (1- Walker Half, 1- Barber Half, 1- SLQ, & 5- Barber Quarters), but I have yet to find a single Franklin Half.

Seriously, Go look around the parking lots around the National battlefields. folks have been going there since the first world war bet you can find old Ben in there.

Certainly worth a try if you can get away with it.

I have an Idea. I found a couple Frankie's with holes in them I'll send to you, Throw them over your shoulder behind you and go find them.

Still can't figure why the holes. I must be stupid or something.
These have been around long enough that they would have been made into rings if they were going to.
