Some West Central FL flavors

I really like the the way time changed the patina on one side of this KRF, Lovell Constricted point to a yellowish hue.

100_5041.webp i kinda like all the varied colors & shades the bird bone beads take on as they age and weather and are exposed the UV for different lengths of time

Nice scraper Lars, I just love those larger ones, and yours is a real dandy! You just reminded me of another resource for more color.

Here are some I purchased that have some nice color to them.

I like the thin vein of blue and white in this.

I got more personal finds. I try to do a hunt twice a week at least. I dont find them every hunt tough but it sure is fun getting out there with nature seeing and hearing all of them wild animals.

scrapers 019.webpscrapers 020.webpscrapers 021.webp
Wow Larson, a challenge to see scrapers? This could get interesting.
Not a whole lot of colorful chert in Ks., usually different shades of gray to almost black. There are exceptions though.
First pic are two alibates scrapers. That material of course was traded in.
Second pic is Kay Co. chert. It turns a bright pink when heat treated. The one on the right is unheated, one on left is heat treated.
Third pic. are a group of small scrapers from one site.

hey hey quito
i hope i am not going off course here
maybe i am a bit biased but i do like the different shades of KRF
here are some bigger ones along with a unifacial XXL quartzite piece
