I am so jealous of all these beautiful artifacts.
I have yet to find a point.
Little hard to look at the moment with all of the snow here in the Syracuse area!
Thanks for sharing everyone.

Gator, I really like that celt. Fine workmanship.

Thanks! Just the fact that an artifact made of a basalt material was found as far south as it was is very special to begin with.
The closest natural outcrop is well into the state of Georgia

Nice stuff guys! On a side note for us Floridians, im hopefully meeting with a state representative next week to discuss possibly trying to get the Isolated Finds Program reinstalled!

Good luck with that...
As much as I would love for that to happen I just can't imagine it will

Yeah I realize that, but it won't ever happen if you don't try! Any pointers on why it should be reinstated would be helpful Ive got very good persuasive skills

Its up to you to throw the sales pitch but honestly I believe it was faulty implementation that caused it to be so unsuccessful.
The brass tacks to me would be the fact that the state could make money with very little overhead.
A fee permit program seems it would be the answer to me... the fossil program is working just fine.
I don't know if it's happened yet.. But it seems inevitable that eventually it would be realized that the state hired archaeologists really need to have a good relationship with the citizens of the state in which they work and with the people who pay them.. For the benefit of all groups involved including future generations.
