MA member hunt #2?

Hi All!

I'm a newbie to metal detecting but I just got an Ace250 and I can't wait to start hunting!

I live in Concord and I'm interested in clubs or outings, so count me in.

Do you all hunt in the local town parks, playgrounds, and or playing fields? Any restrictions on these types of areas that you know? I know that State Forrest / Parks are off limits but I havn't been able to find anything on local parks.

unfortunately, someone told me that Concord and Lexington town parks are off limits, but as far as I know other towns are ok.

Kim, sorry I've been out of the loop - I can't even begin to describe the last 2 weeks, will pm or email you...

Given the historicity (is that a word?) of some of those parks, that actually doesn't surprise me.

but as far as I know other towns are ok.

It seems awful hard to find info on town (or state) web sites.

Maybe. But GF is here so probably not. The next weekend would likely work for me though if the weather permits.

I haven't been out since last Friday, the longest stretch--by far--since I started this. I'm having withdrawal pains.

As long as the ground isn't too frozen to dig--though I was digging through an inch or so of frozen crust a couple of times--I've been out most days. The forecast looks good for the next week. When and where?

Hi All,
I'm back (again!) ugh!!! I'm just getting over my second nasty cold of the season, and am leaving my job at the end of this month, so been around, but busy. Unfortunately, this coming week may be taken up by finishing up work, but then I'm (sort of - eventually I suppose I'll need to get another job, sigh) free. Hope everyone's been well and hunting

Sounds like you're close to escaping (at least in the northernly direction). I have six years to escape--and dig what I can in the meantime.

Hi all~ I just posted in one of the other Mass. threads too. I'm in Lowell and willing to travel. I have a Whites DFX and a Classic III if any one doesn't have an MD and wants to join in, or wants to try the DFX. The ground ain't frozen yet!

I'm in the Lexington/Arlington/Medford area and available any time tomorrow or Wednesday, I think, for a hunt. I have my kids the rest of the week. Though I don't want to have to travel too awful far though since my Jeep has some issues.

Hi All

I just was given a Bounty Hunter Pioneer 101 as a Christmas Gift. Not a bad starter model from what I read. I am planning to go in January because I KNOW it will be nice and mild, and I have some pretty sweet spots I want to try. This site has some great content!

In addition, I am an avid railroad history student who has spent many hours researching the subject, and as a result, I know of a few sites that may or may not have been touched with MDs yet in the local area. I'll let you all know how it goes when I get out to a spot or two soon.

All that being said, I'm excited to be a part of this forum and I hope we get to meet sometime.

What do people think of trying to get out as a group once more before the winter gets hardcore? Maybe we can get Groovedymond, WormtownHunter, Kidd, and MA_Hunter out, too. any interest, and if so, any ideas?

Hi Lara Newbie here and was interested in Forming a Group for treasure hunting.. I am up for it . Lots of time this summer.. Great weather is coming. Beaches should be great too.
