Thanks for the info. Plan on doing both land and water. Getting ready to order an AT Pro so I can use it for both. Wanting to find coins and iron. Mainly logging camp artifacts and cooking tools ( I was a cook in the Navy for 20 yrs) wanting to start a collection. Once I get going maybe we will run into each other.

Whitehall and Muskegon have some Great areas to hunt.
One of my favorite places to hunt has always been Duck Lake.
That place a lot of History.
I hope we can get together in the near future.

Yay! More people in an already overcrowded state that think they are going to strike it rich because "Da TV SAID."

I have hunted since the early 90's, I always tell people I have hunted for 15+ years for sake of the argument.
I have seen many people come and go in this hobby, some like myself have gotten into this hobby because of someone they have met, some I am sure have gotten into it because of some of the TV programs in the past, yep they are there.
I have Not watched any of the new shows about Metal Detecting Yet, but I will !!!! For the simple Reason that I want to see for myself what these shows are all about.
The old boy that handed me my first metal detector to use with him on a hunt had no clue who I was or if I would continue to hunt.
He Welcomed me into his beloved hobby.
To all the Newbees, Please respect the property that you hunt, Clean up any mess or Junk that you will find, and Welcome to our Hobby.

Julie, my Better Half has done alot of research on Holton.
My Family has been in Holton since the Civil War, a land grant for Serving in the war.

It is incredible who many people hunt this area and I rarely if ever run into any one else hunting. Only 2 so far this year.
