The one on the bottom right with B.C. printed on it is a fake.....

Please clarify the "B.C." coin. Also, please state your reasoning for it being a fake..whichever coin you are talking about. It is very easy to say a coin is fake and leave it at that. I've seen this sort of post 1000 x.

Thank you Thank you! :)

Can't wait to get the coin in-hand, need to re-photograph it. I love rainbow toning!

I know you've already kind of answered this...but where do you get all these? Do you buy a majority of them from stores, or ebay? Do you buy individual coins, marked seperately? Do you buy those "unsearched, uncleaned" coins? I'm thinking of doing the latter. I'd like your advice if you've done that, on who to order from. There was one guy who posted on treasurenet and said only one of his had any detail and the rest were worn to no detail. I'd like to avoid that and stick with good ones if I can. It sounds like a lot of fun cleaning and learning about them. Thanks again for your posts, they're great!! ;D

Hi Snee,
I get many of my coins from Ebay. I have a couple of overseas contacts that I buy from directly as well. I usually buy individual coins; however, I will buy an occasional lot if the price is right. I actually started with uncleaned coins. Then it was pretty much hit or miss. Now, I fear, the majority of these uncleaned coins are of poor quality or "throwbacks". I'm sure there are still a few good uncleaned sellers out there but I haven't bought uncleaned coins in quite some time. I am going to be liquidating many of my coins in the near future..so if you see anything that you are interested in just let me know. I'll be going the ebay route with the sales. I have way too many of these things and need to trim down the collection to something more manageable. I also want to explore some other hobbies as well. Glad you enjoy looking at the coins. If you have any other questions, feel free to let me know. Also, if there is a certain coin or period within the roman era that you are interested in, I will be glad to help you find what you are looking for (if you see something on ebay and want to run it through me, I'll be glad to give you my opinion on whether it is authentic or a fake...many fakes out there...one has to be careful!).
