My childish dreams were crushed!!

Last month one of my co-workers scored some info on a lost tungsten wedding band. The beauty part was that the ring, regardless of being tungsten was lost at a private resort island.

Fast forward to my negotiations with the island manager and getting permission to hunt the beach there to look for the tungsten.

My childish imagination was going crazy for the past week! I showed up at 5:30 a.m. this morning to catch the first boat out to the island.

Well I was hitting coins like crazy. First ring find was a titanium, then I focused on the area where my guy had lost his ring. Took a little while but I believe I found it. (pending verification).

Then the 14K Claddagh. Moved over to a different part of the beach and found a light weight 14K white gold band.

So I ended up with a titanium, 14K white gold, 14K yellow gold and the tungsten. 28 quarters, 12 nickles, 4 dimes a penny and 2 foreign coins. Huge coin count for me in the water.

I go to thank the Manager and he tells me that he has a "regular" guy that he allows to come out and hunt this area. DAMN IT!!!! Now I don't feel bad about not finding all those Tiffany, Cartier or BVGARI rings that have been bouncing around my head this past week.

Sweet finds. Too bad about, "the regular guy."

Each time I'm water hunting I start "expecting" to hear that perfect tone at any second. I can even build myself up with anticipation of that moment, "What will this one look like," helps me pass the seconds. Two hours later I still know it's coming at any second.
