I got out for a couple of very short hunts just before dark last week and dug my nicest IH to date ... a 1905 in nice condition. I dug the IH in a bean stubble field where an old farm house used to be. The sandy soil in this field is quite different than most of the fields in my area and is probably why the IH is in such good condition (plus it must have been like new when it was dropped). Just a little soap and water cleaned this coin just fine. Along with the IH I also dug an ornate aluminum cap with a ship on it, and a hem weight. At another hunt in a near by yard I found a cylinder for an old cap gun, an old lady's compact lid, a wheatie, 4 memorial cents, and several other whatzits ... Thanks for looking ~ Jimmy!
