My oldest US silver

[McCDig]

Had a welcome surprise of another Tnet member stopping by to detect in Baltimore County.

Many acres we shared with meanderings looking for relics.

Gary came away with a hemweight, flat button, brass D buckle, musketball, drawer pull, and a '54 rosie as keepers.

I had a surprise find: my first silver from this site and it turned out to be seated, an 1838 dime!

Did manage to dig some pistol balls, but not a button today; they eluded me.

Certainly great to share the afternoon with a fellow Tnetter!

A Seated Dime in that kind of condition is quiet an amazing thing!

Wonderful find ! The condition is amazing (solid XF at least ) probably dropped as an AU coin . Should be a $200. coin easily ! Just editing this post to say that after another look , it's clear that this coin is a lot better than XF !

That's a pretty one. I also found 1838 dime but it looks like it circulated for many years.
