I have been a bottle digger scince I was ten y.o., following in my dads footsteps. Good dumps are getting harder and harder to find !! My dad and I have never M.D. and I thought it would be a good idea to go back over all our old haunts we dug out with one scince alot of the research and foot work finding the old foundations, logging camps ect.. has been done. Got a M.D. for x-mas and have been driving wife crazy with it practicing in the house with stuff hidden under rugs. We had a tough winter but finally got out to try it. I have been working a south facing bank right across the street from me that is at least partially thawed out. The good part is the house above the bank was built in 1830. I think its virgin ground cause there was alot of stuff in it. here is what I found so far 1863 I.H. S.L.Q. no date, Mercury dime no date, I. H. nickel no date, 1946 rosie, a cool badge, a large brass button, GOLD cuff link head, 1.83 clad not shown. I am getting alot of signals up on the lawn above the bank but it is still too frozen to dig so pray for warm weather and I will keep you posted!! Yes I dug alot of trash too, filled a 5 gallon bucket 1/3 full with lead flashing, bottle caps old cans ect.. but here is my first M.D. treasure!!
