Opium pipe?

Found in an old barn . It has a little pointy thing in the bowl . Seems to be made of pewter type metal . I'm not sure if it's from the 1970's or the 1870's the hole at the base of the bowl acts like a carburetor . Any ideas how old it might be ?

Here's a new thought: Could it be an old version of the tool used to check the air pressure in tires? The sliding rod with the tick marks is missing, and would have slid back and forth inside the stem.

I think this needs more research.

I think that based on the last image of the object we can conclusively rule out a smoking device of any kind. It looks too clean to have been used for that purpose. But it could still be something of alien origin, such as the dreaded Anal Probe or the Brain Drainer.

Old buddy was arrested for a juice bottle with a metal lid that had a hole in it with a pin. It was considered drug paraphernalia and a separate charge.

What I was saying is anything that can be used in any way, shape or form to smoke from, snort through and has any residue or is found with an illegal substance in the same possession is considered paraphernalia and a separate charge.
