Well I went fishing at one of my favorite places, and the fishing wasn't that good, but I didnt get skunked at least! 2013-05-01 15.34.25.jpg So, I have been fishing this place for years, and only last year, I started to notice obsidian and jasper flakes on the lake shore. Then I began to find broken arrow points and a few knife points, and a few bases, with the tips gone. I thought, "there has to be something unbroken here..." and so I spent a few days ONLY searching for points. But I would only find broken ones and flakes and such, nothing really good. Well, today I only caught three fish, but I was there for 8 hours, and getting bored I started searching again for points. I finally found a point that had been started, but not finnished! Then I found a few "core" rocks that have obviously been used for flakes to make points. I searched some more and even some more, but got tired of looking and began to fish again. I went to one spot, made a few casts, and looked down near my feet to make sure my line was not tangling and saw this... 2013-05-01 15.02.00.jpg 2013-05-01 15.02.19.jpg It's not big, it's not perfect, but it was WHOLE and UNBROKEN!!! I was really happy! I KNEW there had to be something good out there! Here is a pic of all the days finds, Including a bone button. 2013-05-01 15.29.56.jpg 2013-05-01 15.30.22.jpg 2013-05-01 15.30.17.jpg And the scenery... 2013-05-01 15.36.21.jpg And the day wasn't over, I had the privilege of glimpsing some elk too!! 2013-05-01 17.16.48.jpg <(*hint* click on the pic to zoom in!!) What a great day!!

How beautiful that point looks underwater, and what a special find for you - CONGRATS! :icon_thumleft: Imperfections whether in arrowheads, pottery or other craft, remind us that human hands create an amazing assortment of useful items. You sure live in a beautiful area, & thanks for the pic of the elk. Andi
