Prayers for my wife please - Updated 16 Nov

Re: Prayers for my wife please - updated 16 NOv

My wife had her cast removed on Friday and is now in a brace. She will start therapy at the end if the month.

I did see the xray for the first time. OMG. I counted 7 screws/pins and the plate is about 6 inches long. The upper bone had the ball end shattered and it was replaced. The replacement hardware was not round like I had pictured in my mind, but was shaped like the mouth piece of a trumpet. That is the best description that I can come up up with.

Patty is doing well and was very happy to be out of the cast.

I want to thank all of you who sent prayers and well wishes. It is very much appreciated. My sincerest thanks.

wow! When ya gonna post pics of the xrays? ;D Sure glad to hear that things are progressing and still prayin for you guys!

Yea!!! She's past the worst of it. Just MAKE her do the therapy. After a couple of months, the only thing she'll notice is the cold sensation when she's outside. That's gotta be quite different! SO glad she's better and on the road to recovery. - Noodle

So glad she has gotton rid of the cast but do make her do the theropy! And yea just like Cyn said post pics of the x-ray! Will keep the prayers up!

Glad to hear the update, Ray. I don't think she will be going MDing with you...she'll set the MD off. Wonder what she'll read. ;D ;D

 RR

Thanks for the update Ray... we are all praying and thinking positive healing for Patty and that your doing great as a Mr. Mom too.

My wife is from the Caribbean and anything below 70 is cold to her. Tonight is going down to the 40's. One good thingis that her therapist is from Trinidad, where my wife was born. They hit it off immediately. That is a good thing. :D I found out that the doctor who did the surgery is one of the best in the area. Glad he was on duty the night of the accident.

Seems like my day starts at 0630 and it end when I hit the sack. I am also Mr. Mom as you say. Change the sheets on the beds, do the laundry, cook dinner ( Clam chowder tomorrow), Yard work, normal houshold chores likeyard work and minor home repairs and that was just today. LOL I did most of this after I got home from work today. I have to go to work to rest up. ;D

Hi RR,
I asked the doctor if Patty will set off the MD at the airport. Gave me a strange look and said, probably. ( Ya think?)

She would definately read in the GOLD Range. ( I know, so do pull tabs) LOL.

:o

Glad she is on the mend Ray.

You both are in our thoughts.

So you are detecting her arm are ya?

When our daughter had rods in her back Jeff use to tell her to go put her hd on the TV and hold the other up and point different directions. Hehe! use to really make her mad.

And yes speaking from going with daughter she WILL set of the detectors at the aiport so just stop short and tell them, they will use the hand wand on her!

I will have to run the detector over her elbow one day to see what VDI I get. :o

The airport security check point should be an interesting experience. I am sure they get lot of folks with metal implants.

I was worried at first but I can see all is going well now. Best to both of you! :icon_sunny:

Things are moving along. We go to therapy today.

Good to hear that things are going along ok. Therapy is not fun but it is a necessary evil, my daughter hated every minute of it but it did seem to do her knee some good.
Prayers continuing.
