Did you post this on the facebook links I provided yet? I would. You need exposure beyond this thread and the little podunk town this happened in. There is no telling who this guy is related to. It sounds like he is connected with the local police, so you will get no help from them it seems. I feel for you, but unless you take this to the next level it looks like your s.o.l. on the local level. If not, the next "level" may be the leveling of cross hairs taking aim, be it you or him doing the aiming.

Cameras would be the least I would do.....Document everything......You know what to do.....Oh and if you do have a detecting event, it might not hurt to invite a couple or few state police to detect also....Someone you could trust that is....

What this man saw, heard and says is what happened...period. I've been there... and was questioned myself while walking up the ridge (50 yds. from their home) with my grandson this summer to MD.

Too invite a bunch of folks over to MD, Treasure Hunt and walk around only throws "fuel on fire". It does nothing to address the root cause of the problem.... a bunch of though do have some other solutions.

Since I don't think Drug running / Dealing should be Illegal.

Alcohol running / Dealing during prohibition didn't work & there are people who Supported Running & selling illegal Alcohol.

imo we should not have a double standard about drugs then either .

because odds are if they have customers coming to the house getting paranoid.

I had some guy sitting in a car watching my house from 200 yards away two weeks ago. I drove out of the driveway, had to go to work. Drove REAL SLOW by him got a really good description and tag # to the car. Got home and called the police and they were there in 20 minutes and took a report. Guy didn't come back. In the meantime I put up ANOTHER set of wireless surveillance cameras and ANOTHER set of motion detector lights. Those demonic looking little red lights at night will scare off most sane people. Anything trips them at night the place will look like an attempted break in at Fort Knox.

Your "neighbor" does not appear to be the sane sort, however. Good luck.

GET A LAWYER. They know which buttons to push. Sometimes it only take 1 phone call from them to get the desired results. I think you might need to find a magistrate and just go file charges, that's how it's done here sometimes.

This may be a situation where most of the residents are "kin" from way back.
I do fear for your family's safety because of the lack of law enforcements involvement, it has the feel, by your posts, of a "southern good ole boy' mentality.
Contact the SCLE, or if need be, go to their office in Columbia.

I am ashamed that there are things like this that happen in this great nation (but obviously they do)... I pray you are correct, I pray the good men and women in LE here will take a stand... They have an obligation to the public, and to the majority of good men and women in LE to bring to justice those whom infiltrate their departments, and use their possition for unconstitutional, illegal, and/or impropper purposes. I pray that their are officers here who will refuse to be be made a part of the wrongdoings of few bad ones.

Belittled by the investigator? That is quite unprofessional, and for them to engage in such behavior tells me you hit a nerve. Something is not right, they wanted the situation to "go away" through their inaction.

Maybe their goal was to get you frustrated enough to sell? I don't know for sure, but I suspect they are protecting the shooter for whatever reason.

I agree with you Brad... I sure hope this gets better soon. Hopefully the attorney will be able to get things going correctly. If things get any wierder I might have to come hide out in your cave. Did I tell you how scared I am of caves .. LOL - On second thought, I'm just gonna have to be tough enough, and brave enough to deal with these people.
